conscript == green?

I have been wondering about this one. Russkie green troops equal kraut conscripts, right. But what do Russkie conscripts equal? Even worse than green heroes of worker's and farmers?

Is it worthwhile buying green troops or only regular and better?

It only counts for command delays (lack of radios, experienced officers). Morale, accuracy, and other stuff is the same for both.

White Phosphorus is right about the Soviet forces, only the command delay acts as one exp. level lower. Morever, this is only for the early part of the war. I can't tell you what the cutoff date is though.

Does this 'command delay only' thing apply just to Soviet conscripts? IOW, would an early war Soviet regular only differ from a German regular by command delay too? Oh, and how did you ever figure that out?

I think White Phos is correct. This may be BFC's attempt to model the aftermath of Stalin's purges of the officer class before the war started. Early-war all the good officers were either dead or in Gulag. Later on competent officers started to remerge.

In the back of the manual, try the section called Ostfront, it is the primer for CMBO vets as to what has changed. It really should be in the front of the manual IMHO, esp. since much of the manual was lifted verbatim from CMBO, and it was silly to waste time scouring thru it before I found about the Ostfront section.

So for command delays only, Soviet greens and conscripts act like they are 1 exp.level lower, until maybe early '42? can't recall. maybe its not until 44?
