Joseph Porta
I've decided to take a break from my unequalled run of defeats vs my fellow human beings, and now I am looking for an operation to play against the AI, with me as defender, to restore my ego a bit Preferably of size Medium or smaller, as I tend to get lost in the bigger maps. (EDIT: The number of units is my problem, not the size of the maps.) Can anyone remember any good ops ? Poobear
I would start w/ Villers-bocage as the Germans. My personal favorite is Carentan (best played as Allies the first time through). DR.
Dirtweasle
Well the Operations are all fairly large. 21st Panzer is pretty good and I think samller than a lot of them.
BeauCoupDinkyDau
Villers - Bocage as the Germans is fun. Right now I am playing Ardennes - Team Desorby (as Germans) for the first time, and am having a good time with that one as well.
Pvt. Ryan
to restore my ego a bit[/QB]Have you considered a penile implant? My favorite operation is Franko's Stoumont. It is a bit large, but I love it so much. You can get it at The Scenario Depot

mike the wino2
"Breaking through the west wall" or somefink like that. "Arnham-The Red Devils" was a good one if memory serves me well. A bridge, Ami Paras, Germans w/ light armor support. Good hotseat or against AI. Haven't played ops lately as I agreed to playtest the "Mother of All Ops"(not real name) for MrFred. 11 games, 25 turns each, German attacking. Egads. I suspect I will finish right about the time CMBB comes out.
BeauCoupDinkyDau
Oooh, I forgot! Bouncing the Rhine (which I was a playtester on) is quite excellent. It is medium in size with just enough units to keep you busy without overwealming the player. Make sure to play as the American paras if you try thant one. Silvio Manuel
For a change of pace, might I recommend the "Mini-Campaigns" made by: Patrick T. Ware: (2) U.S. 79th ID in Cotentin/St.Lo Fred Hartig: (1) German Armored PzG troops PBEM & F.T.C. : Thomas Klimisch: (1) for Franko True Combat Rules They are not "Operations" per se, but rather 'campaigns' where each subsequent battle features the same Company + various attached support units that fight battles in diff. time periods throughout the war. Seems like a very good idea, and the battles are all supposed to be very challenging. DL them at: Tom's Combat Mission Headquarters under the Scenarios, then Mini-Campaigns tab. I haven't actually played these, but they seem very promising.
bulletproofest
Overlord(it is the name of the game isn't it) or else some type of bridge taking Market Garden Op.
SuperTed
JP, Just reading the title of this thread, I would say it is best to stay away from knee reconstruction operations if at all possible. [ July 27, 2002, 04:58 AM: Message edited by: SuperTed ]
