What other games are you looking forward to?
Doug Beman replied to noxnoctum's topic in General Discussion Forum
I'm looking forward to a game that does for naval combat 1900-1950 what CM has done for land combat. DjB -
The last time I visited this site was the end of 2008. I stopped in for my sorta-annual plea for a game that does for naval combat 1900-1950 what the CM series has done for land combat. How many old hands are still around? DjB

I got a new PC in the spring, and I can't run CMBO! When I start it I get the "approve res" window, but regardless which res I choose from the cycle, the game goes to black screen and I get the "ploink" error noise, and have to Ctl-Alt-Del to kill CMBO. What's wrong? HELP! DjB

Those dirty words: release date
Doug Beman replied to FaxisAxis's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Where the hell have you been since Feb, Beman? Hope things are going well for you. http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=9;t=019086;p=1#000000 Did Seanacahai's evil plans work? You missed the riot that ensued when he banned himself from the forum. I'll never forget the time you, Emrys and me were the finalists in the "who should the forum put to death contest". Shame about that whole 'life' thing - we hope you're over it! </font> -
Those dirty words: release date
Doug Beman replied to FaxisAxis's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
This thread has been repeating, virtually unchanged except for the game in question, since the later portion of 1999. There're always people who just can't comprehend BTS' approach to software development and take it on themselves to pester over and over and over and over again. Much like an obsessed fan, their enthusiasm eventually turns sour, until they've convinced themselves that this is all one big conspiracy designed to ruin their lives. They flare into tirades, and usually disappear like a match in the dark. Meanwhile, the rest of us--who have a modicum of self-restraint and faith in BTS to turn out great games--go on with what we usually refer to as "life." DjB -
CMSF vs MBT, aka "Peng Challenges Again"!
Doug Beman replied to Boo Radley's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Dear Sir, I object very strongly to that last objection, and to the next post. Yours etc. Brigadier General Sir Arthur Thomas Strong (Mrs. etc.) (Deceased etc.) DjB -
Did you try all the things listed in the CMBB troubleshooting guide? DjB

Now, if my worthless beer-swilling jelly-spined weak-kneed sheep-fondling opponent would re-appear I could get on with the slaughter. DjB -
Never mind, I'll do like Matt said and read the FAQ. DjB [ May 02, 2004, 12:55 PM: Message edited by: Doug Beman ]

Will it run on a Mac?
Doug Beman replied to Michael Emrys's topic in Modern Naval Battles - WWII At Sea
I love how, 2 years ago, all the Mac aficianados couldn't shut up about how great OS9 was, and when OSX was first released they all dogged it and swore undying allegiance to 9, and now they're all saying "I hate going back to OS9" and "OSX made my wife love me again" and "OSX cures cancer; 9 causes syphillis." And the Maccies call the Windoze crowd lame! DjB -
I wanna pre-pre-preorder. And, I would find a way to break a brick with a sponge to be a beta tester. DjB

Wonder of wonders, the MBT is going strong in CMAK land. In the past 4 years of my life, Peng has been one of the few things I have been able to count on. Bless it, truly. DjB -
He wears it. He's on the hormones and is due for the op any day now. You need to call her Barbara now. </font>
