John Kettler
Have just come off a long (1 a.m. Saturaday to between 5 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday), massively disruptive Internet outage which took down all my comms in one fell swoop, but didn't affect the PCs here at all. Rebooted, ran diagnostics, flushed cache, etc. Nothing! Tried cable from adjacent housemate's room. Nada. Swapped router ports; still nada. Am running OS X 10.4.8 Panther on an 800 MHz lampshade iMac w 512 MB SDRAM and couldn't connect--until the problem self cleared--using the latest version of Firefox or Safari. Skype didn't work either. ISP is Time Warner Cable's Roadrunner here in SoCal's San Fernando Valley. My Mac power user friend thinks this is probably an ISP issue and not a my computer issue, precisely because the problem self clears and has done this twice now, though not as long the first time. Can anyone shed any light on this maddening, devastating problem? Am partricularly interested in hearing from any Mac users in my area. Regards, John Kettler
Pzman
It could be a problem with your ethernet port / wireless card, maybe its failing? If it only effected your Mac (maybe its time to upgrade to 10.4.9, it has been out for a while now) then that is possible.
