Bogdan
Hi all, While google-ing, I found this japanese website about panzers and digital modelling. Have a look : See the detail of the JgdPz IV frontwheel : Is that high level of graphic quality could be handle in the next CM engine ? I guess that the main drawback would be the CPU power and calculation abilities of our computers. Unless you buy a brand new NASA machine, these sharp details will stay a dream for the CM fans
Michael Emrys
Even a simplified image that showed 3D wheels with depth would be welcome. Round would be nice too. Michael
MikeyD
That's what I call 'virtual modeling', using your computer instead of kit, glue and plastic card stock. And like regular modeling the artist places no limit for time or expense. doing a CAD drawing like that takes a certain amount of fanatacism. High-end art like that would be great for the game IF they only provided 2-3 vehicles - a situation most CM gamers would complain bitterly about

It may explain that. More seriously, this one isn't so bad too. It even includes "weathering" : [ April 28, 2005, 08:53 AM: Message edited by: Bogdan ]

athlete
Yeah, that's pretty amazing. I'm not sure that our pc's couldn't handle it. Really, the LOS distance isn't that large in most cases, and most of the background scenery would probably be handled by shaders next time around.

[...] I feel we're close from the delicate border of offtopicness but... Have you seen the price of this thing? 125 USD's the last I heard of it... No matter how good, it's out of my reach. Here's another pic from this website. Gotta admitt it, these guys are good!
