simovitch
Well, the Nordrhein-Westfalen portion of germany. The orthophotos are so clear that you can just make out some old dragons teeth if you know where to look  . The topo is high quality as well, at 1:25000. Caution though: It ain't from the '40's. joe bob says check it out
Sergei
That's just cool... also helps you to understand what the topo maps can look like in real life. here's an example: Hopefully we get similar (free!) services covering other parts of Europe in a short time, too...

Michael Dorosh
Hmmm....tantalizing - tried to get in to the Remagen area but my limited command of anything but high school German has failed me once again.
Andreas
That would be because it is not in Nordrhein-Westfalen, but in Rheinland-Pfalz. Think Alberta/Sakatchewan, and you get the idea.
Sergei
Alberta-Saskatchewan??? Where is that on my map of California?
simovitch
There is great coverage of the Hurtgenwald though, and the start of Rollbahn A (and B, and C) where the 1SS panzer corps began the advance through the Krinkelterwald during the Ardennes Offensive.

ArgusEye
A great resource at the time, but Google Earth blows most of it away. What is still useful, is staff maps of the battlefields. A commodity hard to come by.
