Elmar Bijlsma
Thanks Oren. Hmmmm, with three previous owners I would hold off buying this car.
Michael Emrys
Looks like the last owner drove it into the ground. Michael
Elmar Bijlsma
No kidding! The British army, reknowned for littering the battlefield with their vehicles, kept it in running order. An Arabian gang, for crying out loud, kept it in good knick. So who totals it into the extreme? The much vaunted IDF. Sheesh!
Michael Emrys
Yeah. Broken axle? Well, what would you expect driving it in that kind of terrain? Michael
oren_m
Well Elamr, the IDF in known by it's extreme soldiers, when i was in the army i heard of several events which included Hummers fliping on their sides...i think that you know how difficult is it to flip a Hummer....
Foreigner
Wasn't it a case of some guy persistently "researching" how one can deliberately flip a HumVee on even ground, and after the "successful study conclusion", neigbboring units striving to prove "they could do no worse"?
oren_m
Yea, something like that, you see, when the IDF bought the Hummers from the americans, they were told that it's an un-flipble cars... well you know israelis...they have to prove everything wrong!

hoolaman
Humber 4WD I think this is it at the top of the page. Edit: If this vehicle was left where it lay, I am really not surprised the axle broke. There must have been some urgent need to cross that terrain. And thanks oren_m for this entertaining contribution to the forums. oren_m
It's exactly the vehicle! Just think how hot it could get in that cabin while driving in the desert...i guess they did'nt had A/C back than! I have another picture of the Humber this time to can see the story sign (it's in hebrew, dont bother to try reading it...) junk2drive
No A/C? You get use to it. When I first moved the the desert, I had a 1985 Dodge with no A/C, and lived in a single wide 1960s trailer with evaporative cooling. When it is 125f outside, 95f inside ain't too bad. You need oven mitts to drive though.
