Shmavis
So, what exactly did he say to the bishop of Wurzburg? I'm tired of searching for a quote.
Lucho
http://gutenberg.spiegel.de/goethe/berlich/berlich.htm Try this. Götz von Berlichingen mit der eisernen Hand.Ein Schauspiel From his besieged home (a castle) he shouted: "Vor Ihro Kaiserliche Majestät hab ich, wie immer, schuldigen Respekt. Er aber, sag's ihm, er kann mich [im (!) Arsch lecken!]" (S. 139) Thlast three words were not more published from the second edition in J.W.Goethe`s play.
ParaBellum
He was quite a diplomatic guy, old Götz...
Shmavis
Ah. Could I have that in English, please? I checked the scenario briefing again and it was, apparently, the bishop of Bamburg with whom he had the exchange. In my searching I was only able to find references to the bishop of Wurzburg. I guess he had a lot of bishop enemies.

Da Beginna
It's more like, he may lick my ass from the inside. I'm currently reading the book - a good one! BTW, it's Bamberg, not Bamburg. Cheers!
Shmavis
Thanks! Sorry for my belated response. I noticed many different spellings for the names of people and places, by the way.
