What about a CM for other wars??

There was quite a bit of jungle fighting in 'Nam but most of the famous battles took place on the fringes of cover or out in the open. Vietnam has a lot of variety in terrain rice paddies, swamps, barrain hills (before the B-52 poundings). There was enough open areas that AFV were used frequently. Nothing is as fun/interesting as WW2 but 'Nam was a war with a completely different approach. There would definately need to have a spray-n-pray command where a field of constant fire would be layed down without los.

Yep, I'm a noob to CM so I'm sure this has been discussed before and maybe just maybe these projects are already in the works??

Oh another game that would rock on CM would be a Mechwarrior or Star Wars version.

Btw, I realized that I played a demo of CMBO like in '99-'98 and thought it was the best game ever and waited sooooo long for the release that I had forgotten about it. Until I accidentally clicked on the Battlefront forum via The Wargamer. Funny huh.

Must add my vote here for CM in the Pacific and Far East/CBI. That would just about complete the WW2 set. Japanese banzai charges, amphibious tanks and Marines, and bunker busting in Burma (try saying that after a few too many). Seriously though, that jungle fighting would be a whole new experience. As would landing on coral attolls barely big enough for a battalion of men! Please include the Burma campaign though, it did last from 1941-45. Malaya would be good too, the Japanese used their tanks a lot there. Banzai!

Hello Royal Dragoon Guard, if you wait a bit the Malaysian scenarios (Slim river, Kampar and Khora Baru) are in production. For bunker busting in Burma I would point you to two existing Burma scenarios in CMAK:

Small Battles, Marubouai, Burma

Small Battles, Burma Relief

With your handle of Royal Dragoon Guard may I also suggest, Small Battles, First Blood 1940 which deals with the 4/7 Royal Dragoon Guards.

Sergei,

You are right, this is an idea that has never been brought up. Which is what gave rise to my, now famous ,comment "Good ideas are like your ass, it's probably not as great as you think it is, and if it is, it wont be until you bare it."

I am still on the hunt for a programmer to work on a Napoleonic game based on the CM philosophy.

Interestingly at the time I first played CMBO I was playing the talonsoft series and I thought the QB (generating terrain) was just the thing for a Napoleonic small scale game. It would require a re-write of the coding of course which as I understand BFC doesn't release....but once CMx2 comes out they may change their minds.

Hans, you are pulling my leg, right? Have you read my previous posts on this subject? I am perfectly willing to be suckered in on this subject if you are joking.

If you are truly interested in Napoleonic version, drop me a line. I have actually discussed this with CM and BF pretty thoroughly.
