Lah
I was wondering if it is wise to move crews off map? I usually hide them out of harms way but sometimes there's gun hit AFV's as well which I do not want to lose. So is there a negitive effect on global morale or points loss for retreating forces off map?
Tanaka
quote:
Originally posted by Lah: ...So is there a negitive effect on global morale or points loss for retreating forces off map?

There is no points loss, but the moral of your force will go down. Moral itself is not a problem, only if it goes lower then 15% (auto-surrender). I would think, that a good tactic is to let your crews be protected by other units, and if the going gets though, run away with the crew... Swede
I tend to move my crews to my edge of the map and hide them. If enemy units approach, I withdraw the crew off the map. Either that, or I hide the crew near a safe VL.
SGTHenry
I agree with Tanaka. No points lost but it does affect morale. At least as long as I have been playing.
ElGuapo
I use crews in mad end game dashes to capture victory flags.

I myself do it on a daily basis.
Kingfish
I use my crews to find minefields, set off ambushes or force my opponent to expend his ammo reserves, but I've never used them to rush the flags at the end of the game. Thats gamey!
109 Gustav
I usually pull mine out of harms way, and use them for gaurding prisoners and holding down VLs.
Randy Mauldin
What about trucks? I played a scenario once where it was raining and the only two roads leading into the town (where the VL's were) was mined. So I ordered everybody out of the trucks and drove them off the board. Redwolf
Well, I couldn't believe that moving intact units off the map had an influence on morale, but a quick test revealed that it in fact has. Moving units off the map has less morale damage as loosing them in combat, but it seems to be a factor of two or so. Anybody researched the issue? How exactly is morale computed?
