How do you deal with enemy armor?

Especially the big german tanks, such as the Panter G.

You gits around behind them and shoots them in the ass or the side.

It may help to use smoke to blind them.

Artillery is almost always a bad idea, (unless you are hoping for a mobility kill) as it doesn't really do much damage to the tanks you are talking about.

Actually, I hate those damn Stuarts and their fast firing guns too. They have the tendency to Immobolize, gun hit, or Shot trap my poor panthers...usually at a cost of 2 or 3 stuarts. Still, damn annoying pests. As a result, my Panthers are always escorted by a Puma.

Use their disadvantages against them whenever possible. The flanks and rear are relatively weak and the turret is slow. You will need some good recon and a skilled opponent will usually have plenty of infantry support, so there is no general rule that will always work. Still, I'd take odds on 2 Hellcats vs 1 Panther any time.

I use hull down positions as much as possible, try to find a spot that the enemy's got a limited field of fire over (so you don't get multiple armor targets at the same time) and stay mobile mobile mobile! If the enemy spots you once he'll be making plans to flank you. Make sure you're not where you were when he does.

Besides shooting the enemy in the flanks or in the rear which is cool & effective (most frequently, the Germans do not need to flank most Allied tanks because most decent German tanks can take out most Allied tanks from their fronts), remaining stationary behind cover and waiting for the enemy to drive into your line of sight (kill zone) works well. In this manner, you get the first shot (or maybe a second shot before the enemy acquires you) and you are more accurate. Most of the time, you should win these type encounters.

Cheers, Richard Cuccia

First off, recognize that there is players out there who will only Germans, daytime, no air allowed, with light trees.. avoid them like the plague :D

Second of all, try buying one or two AT guns even if you are on the offense. Set them up with good fields of fire.. show your armor just enough for him to want to bring the cats out to play, then bag him with a 76mm tungsten right up the keyhole..
