Module Upgrade after Slitherine move?

Recommended Posts

A couple of weeks ago, I purchased Final Blitzkrieg from Battlefront.com. Today I purchased the Downfall module from Slitherine and evidently the two module activation methods are incompatible. Will there be a way to activate the modules in the Battlefront versions of Combat Mission using the Slitherine Store?

Please don't tell me I have to purchase all these base games from Slitherine to activate modules.

Hate to answer myself, but....

You don't have to re-purchase games/modules from the Slitherine store. All you have to do is sign up for an account there. Retrieve the serial #'s from the Battlefront store account if you don't have them otherwise.....and then enter them into the register serial # section of the My Account page at Slitherine. Then go to the downloads portion of the page and download the Slitherine versions.

Case closed.

>But you can answer to yourself very good  @CHARLIE43 (joke)!

>Very nice question and "answer", yes this is what I am also afraid to changing the méthodes of activations or buy or patched or whatever from the  games and choose the methode between the bigs Bosses BFC, Slitherine, Matrix, Steam,...who is the next, we have more place to another one...

Sorry.... My status panel went to "Panic" very quickly. After reading the Slitherine FAQ and understanding what is actually going on, it's back to "OK". Well maybe "Cautious" but, so far so good. I love Final Blitzkrieg. A virtual WWII European toy box. It'll take years to play with every toy soldier in it, too. And the sandbox just keeps gettin bigger and bigger.

I was able to get all my CMx2 license serials registered on my Matrix/Slitherine account EXCEPT:

1) The one for CMBN's base game.

2) The one for CMBN's version 2 upgrade.

The Slitherine site rejected all my attempts to register those serials by stating they weren't "valid" for CMBN.  However, it accepted my serials for CMBN's version 3 and 4 upgrades which apparently means I can download the game.  (Right now, I don't see the point to downloading any of my CMx2 games due to their all being up to date on my PC, but I did want to register them.)

The question is: do I still need to register the base game and version 2 upgrade serials to play CMBN if and when I download it again?

Run Slitherine's installer and see what you get. The different version upgrades are a little fuzzy these days. For all we know you already have 4.0.

IMHO no, if you managed to register version 4, you already have the most up to date version of the game. IIRC Slitherine doesn't have/use previous versions of the game, only the most recent. If you can download CMBN base game, it has to be version 4, so you're all set.

Yep! So much content. After playing only the WW2 titles for 10 years, the list of official scenarios I still want to play but just haven't gotten to is LONG.

So I started cataloging all the officially released scenarios -- nice ultrawide HD images of their maps at setup -- and realized that, even within the original ~20 CMBN default scenarios, there were a couple that I swear I'd never even seen before. How is that possible?!? (It's because I bought all the WW2 titles within a few weeks of each other....)

Anyway, I counted all the official scenarios for all the WW2 titles + addons, and the tally was up close to 250.

250 official scenarios!

And that excludes all the missions bundled into the official campaigns. (Which can be extracted and played selectively, btw, for those who don't want to commit to the whole thing.) So I'm thinking that slightly more than doubles it to nearly 500.

Plus well over ONE THOUSAND Quick Battle maps spread across the four WW2 titles.

And how many hundreds of user created scenarios are floating around out there?

My point is... some people seem fond of bitching about how expensive these CM2 titles still are, but for me personally, in terms of cost per hour, CM2 has easily been the best entertainment-related purchase I've ever made.

Can't wait to hopefully spend many more years with what comes next.

Agree totally on prices....Final Blitzkrieg/Downfall just blew my mind. From autumn, to winter, and finally early spring. Different camouflage on the uniforms as well as different season correct uniforms altogether. Mud and snow on the vehicles tracks and hull dependent upon the weather! Are the other WWII titles like that as well?

I have Shock Force and Black Sea, both fun in their own right, but the FB is the showcase IMHO. Now if I could just stay out of the scenario editor and actually start battling! lol
