Pablius Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Is there a way to use indirect fire with the on map mortars in the Canadian campaign first mission? They are deployed but they don't show up in the artillery menu Maybe I'm missing something (likely) or is this a known bug? 0 Quote
umlaut Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 I dont think that light mortars are ever connected to the forward observers, but only meant to fire directly. 0 Quote

Ok, that may be it, don't recall reading it in the manual, but it's been a long time since I read it, thanks 0 Quote

True, the British light mortars carried by platoon HQs you can use via the artillery menu and pretty much anyone can call them, I think those are 50mm and the Canadians are 60mm 0 Quote
domfluff Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Yes. So, the 2 inch mortars in CMBN are not callable with the artillery panel. The equivalent in CMSF are, but doctrinally there's quite a bit of difference (not to mention different ammo loadouts). I'm not sure what the Canadian doctrine is here - it's not impossible they're 60mm mortars intended for direct fire, but that doesn't seem likely to me. 0 Quote
akd Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 The Canadian 60mm mortars not being able to indirect fire is a bug. 0 Quote
