(I couldn't resist telling 'em freelancal smile.gif ..since posting has been so light)

Yes, it's here, Combat Vision, movie production! Expect to see the first independent Combat Mission movie in the next day or two.

At the moment it's a 10mb .mov file in the style of an old news reel. free and myself are very excited and hope everyone enjoys it. Free's camera work is super and my editing etc isn't too bad if i don't say so myself!

Panzershark has offered some web space and we have plans for more movies and so on in the future. So keep an eye out. (although i can't be bothered building a flash web page, hehe )

Until then, Hello everyone from the Combat Vision group! smile.gif

PeterNZ (director/editor)

and on behalf of freelancal (camera/titles)

Oh

Free and i have been thinking hte movies might be fun for the CMMC, i mean, news can be a pretty good source of intel! As is video footage :>

We'd have to work with the gm's of course, but wouldn't news footage each week for each side be fun :>

"ze forces of za 12th SS overan ze feeble american positions outside London" etc etc haha

Interesting. Does your commentry have any sub-titles? It definitely benefits the non-native speakers.

That's a good point.

Might have to publish the commentary with the video so people can read what is being said.

Subtitles, although doable, might just end up hard to read, although if we got enough requests after release we might be able to make a subtitled version.

Suggestions for soundtracks:

Patton soundtrack

Henry V soundtrack (Branaugh version)

Bridge too Far soundtrack

Burning Bridges (of course).

The Road Warrior (mad max 2 everywhere else in the world) soundtrack...

I have cd's of all ofthese and can upload mp3's if you want to take a look.

I'm kinda short on that kinda dramatic music! Not sure if we'll bother for the first one, I've still got to write the commentary and come up with some kinda british old commentator accent thingy hehe :>

You want Dramatic? You try Wagner!

Hitler would have loved it, and I bet Patton too! smile.gif

Well, the first movie we do might not include any background music.

I've completed editing thanks to Freelancal's (freelancalot, cos he's a freelance graphics guy, clever huh! smile.gif ) excellent camera work being just what the doctor ordered.

Now i have to do some commentary and so on.. and it's done.

It's damn huge, will probably come out at about 11mb unzipped hehe, (8-9 zipped i'm picking), so might break it up into two files for the download scared mobs :>

Anyway, should be done soon. Just wish i could contact Panzershark to organise our hosting!

For all you technophiles:

I downloaded the movie(above) at http://www.thearcanum.com/LAH/kampf.mpeg and it said it would open with sparkle.I am running it on a Mac powerbook. But sparkle said can't do that because it is "muxed MPEG" file with both audio and video with "result code of 32767"

Is this another "Mac's get lesser version" (sigh) or is there some other patch, ftp site, application what have you that I need?
