Lindan
I'm going on a trip to La Gleize, Bastogne etc. this weekend, together with my pal Warphead. Our goal is to see all the important spots and museums in the area, make hundreds of photos with Warpheads digicam, behave like stoopid tourists, make a general nuisance of ourselves and perhaps steal the King Tiger parked in La Gleize. If you have special recommendatins for the "must-see" spots in the area or just want us to make a picture of a specific location or piece of equipment, feel free to post it here. Thanks in advance, Lindan ------------------ visit lindan.panzershark.com member of the Combat Mission webring
The DesertFox
Lindan, A MUST SEE is the Bastogne Historical Center on the N874 to Longvilly. Don´t miss the Museum in Clerveaux (Clerf). It´s in the old castle and worth a visit. IIRC they have a ko´ed Sherman and a PAK 43/41 there. Furthermore have a look at the Panther G at Grandmenil (west of Manhay) And perhaps at the Panther at Houffalize. Have FUN Cheers Helge ------------------ Sbelling chequed wyth MICROSOFT SPELLCHECKER - vorgs grate! - The DesertFox - Email: desertfox1891@hotmail.com WWW: http://www.geocities.com/desertfox1891
KLilly
I stood in the US cematary and memorial there in 1973 as part of a high school band if you can believe it. Very moving.
kipanderson
Hi, I wish I was off to the Ardennes this weekend, have been there a couple of times and hope to return this December. If its not too late and you do not already have them may I recommend some books for the trip. The series of books is published by Osprey and written by Bruce Quarrie. They are part of the "Order of Battle" series. Ideal for a battle field tour. Like many people I have a lot of books on The Bulge but for tour purposes the books by Bruce Quarrie called The Ardennes Offensive are the best, in my view. All the best, Kip. PS. When at La Gleize do go on and walk the Stoumont battlefield.

Guest Warphead-
Croda: Of course! Don't you remember me? We shared the same padded cell for almost six years. The doctors say I am resocialized now. I am sure you will be more than happy to meet me again. I still have the problem with small furry animals though... Guest Warphead-
Croda: I will contact you as soon as I return from Belgium. Thank you very much for this invitation. I am sure you told your whole family about me and I will receive a warm welcome. Speaking about warm, maybe you have a fireproof room in the basement for me? Best regards Warphead
