Guest Madmatt
Mods, ya just gotta love um! Well guess what? We have TONS of the damn things all ready to fill that CM appatite of yours! Be SURE to check out the new Velvet grass textures from Richard Tremblett. They really rock and also help in determinng elevations. He has also redone almost every other terrain texture in the game and I have separated them out for ease of downloading. You can also download the all the terrain in one big file, but the grass is still a separate download. If you want vehicles mods when can accomodate you as well as JohnS as given us his latest and greatest Dusty textures for Allied and Brit vehicles. He has also added the Stuart, M8 HC and Crocodile trailers to his impressive resume. His new Hi-Res Factory Gray Tiger mod is also available. And lets not forget Max Molinaro's flaming POTD. No lets not forget that... So you know where to go, get moving! Madmatt p.s. Part II starts tomorrow night... ------------------ If it's in Combat Mission, it's on Combat Mission HQ! Scorpion
Stupid question, perhaps? But with your Mod guide, is there any place we can download ALL of the recommended mods in ONE BIG FILE? With just getting DSL, this would be convenient for me, rather than trying to track all of the different downloads...I have no idea what has been created, and where it is all posted, so one comprehensive file would be awesome! Thank you, Matt! -Scorp

Guest Madmatt
One giant Downlosdable file isnt practical since all the mods are from different people and some are the same textures. i also wouldnt want to have to uplaod ta 50meg plus file every other day when a new mod comes along. The purpose of the Madmatt Mod Guide (and YES it will be getting updated soon) IS to provide all the mods in one easy to navigate list in the correct order. It won't get any easier than that. I also dont have the time to give this level of support to 3rd Party Mods. Thats what the MDMP's are for! ------------------ If it's in Combat Mission, it's on Combat Mission HQ! Are you saying you're playing it with the grid? Sorry, the rodent in me couldn't resist it. Seriously, I positively LOVE Richard's work and it looks just great. I've downloaded Tiger's work too and even though it's gorgeous, I stumble accross a nice "bug". The Sherman Croc's trailer is the winterized one. Berlichtingen
Richard Tremblett textures are outstanding! And, this is coming from someone that doesn't usually go in for mods.
Guest Madmatt
It seems the Winterized Croc trailers got stuck into the wrong zip file with the wrong names(they are in the M8 file). I have removed them and will include them into the forthcoming Winter Pack from Tiger. You dont need to redownload them, just RE-APPLY the CrocTrailer.zip file and it will put the correct weathered versions back on. howardb
Amazing how much better CM looks with these mods. Steve & Charles must be stupid not to try to make a deal Some people has bought the game but doesn't hang out on the board and CMHQ (yes actually some doesn't heheh) and these mods are so great that they should be available to everybody. Wolfe
Love these mods! I noticed the Weathered Brits zip file was smaller than the previous version. The following files are not in the new Weathered Brits file: 4430~4435 4538 4580~4582 Were these omitted on purpose? - Chris
deanco
Wow...these terrain textures are great!! Just adding the red tile roofs has already added a lot of visual interest to the game, not to mention looking a lot more realistic! Other things I like : Woods and tall pines are really dark now, which makes it easier to see them from views 7 and 8. And the wheatfields now look as if one could hide in them. Before I really felt I was sending them across open ground...I knew I wasn't of course, but there is a subtile psychological difference now. I would like to second the request for a gridded version of these new terrain textures, BTW. The grid really helps you see terrain elevations from views 3 and 4. Beautiful work, really. Congrats...and thanks on behalf of the community. DeanCo--

cyberized
THANKS Much to MadMatt et al - For ALL the GREAT CM additions at "our" HQ; Could someone please look in their BMP Folder and tell me a couple File #'s for the NEW Grass - so I can check my file to see if I got it or what -- I downloaded it the New Terrains and more BUT am using the NEW GoZilla ZipZilla and am not used to it. I cannot really "see" any real difference in my grass, does not seem softer like in example at HQ. I don't think/know if it really got installed. If you can please give me some file #'s to check for - then I'd know, I may need to re-download/install. TKS PFC DOGface ------------------ "I stink, therefore, I am!" Guest Madmatt
Grass textures are aslways 1550-1569.bmp. If you install them and they dont show up it is becuase the game has detected that you don't have enough Vram to display the graphics. Instead the game scales back the grass textures and uses a very low res version which is located at 1500-1519.bmp You can trick the game by renaming the textures to 1500-1519.bmp maintaining the original numerical order. That means that 1550 would become 1500 and 1551 would become 1501 etc... That way you will get the new grass but your mileage may vary. Juju
Now That was a BIG-ASSED update!. Took me quite a while to sort through it all, and I think I'm keeping all of it. Very nice work. One funny thing: I keep mistaking rooftops for British troops (and vice-versa) at the 8-view. ------------------ I am not a racialist, but, und this is a big but, we in the National Bocialist Party believe das überleben muss gestammen sein mit der schneaky Armstrong-Jones.
