AncientForest
Are they asking $8 for a pdf file, or a hard-copy. I cant imagine being charged $8 for a PDF file. I will probably still get it but want clarification before proceeding. If I select 'download only' there will be no manual, say in PDF format, included in the download. Correct? I am interested in Final Blitzkreig.

AncientForest
^Hey thanks a lot, so perhaps someone else can tell me, what manual is $8 then. Do I need it also?

AncientForest
Thanks a lot guys. $8 isnt bad at all for a physical copy in the mail and I am surprised they offer such a service.
Rosmarus
It might be the engine manual though, not the game spesific one. At one point I had 5 copies of the same manual because they kept sending me the same 3.0 engine manual with the physical game. It highlights all the engine features but doesn't have TOEs or tutorial chapters etc.
A Canadian Cat
It took me a bit to find what you were talking about. Humm I see there is no clarity there about what the manual is or is not. I'll send a message to Steve.

I don't even think that is a current option anymore i.e. any manual on there would be an old non updated version. The problem with manuals and pricing is it is determined by the size of the print run. It just is simply not cost effective anymore to do a printed manual and it is likely out of date almost immediately with the next patch etc. Be nice for them to have a separate entry just for the manuals. They could then keep an archive of older manuals for people still on say 3.0.

At any rate I poked Steve the boss - hopefully he can clarify / tweak the store.

That seems to be the way these days for books of specialized interest whose sales future is uncertain. Even for books that have a limited but steady demand, you save on warehousing costs.
