CPT T
I cannot see the new battles and campaigns that come with Gustav Line. When I launch the game the screen shows the GL icon in the lower left corner. The lower right corner shows v2.00 and game engine 4. When I activate GL using my key is says success. I have turned off virus protection and run no mods. Any help would be appreciated.
sburke
If you look in your scenarios folder for CMFI do you see any of the GL scenarios? My guess is somewhere is your installation process you installed to the wrong directory. Edited July 28, 2018 by sburke
CPT T
I don''t see a scenarios folder. There is a Data Folder with Gustav line v110a.brz, 110c.brz.
IanL
Scenario files are not stored with the game. Look in the my documents/Battlefront/Fortress Italy /scenarios folder or the equivalent on the Mac.
CPT T
I found the files in my documents as you said. There are no Gustav Line scenarios.
CPT T
Where do the Gustav Line files/scenarios/campaigns come from? A patch or one of the upgrades?
sburke
From the install patches and upgrades don’t usually include them. Easiest ath is simply download the full installer and reload. The full installer will make sure to loads where it should. My guess is still that when you did your GL install you didn’t specify correctly. You could hunt for wherever they went by just searching on files named GL*.btt. That should find them. Hopefully you should find you campaign files as well. CPT T
There are no GL.btt files on my computer. I did not know there was an install for GL. The website says: " There is no download for this product! As long as you have an up-to-date installation you already have 100% of the files you need. Check the Base Game's page to see if you're up to date. Your are allowed to have two activations at one time for one or both operating systems. " I enter my GL activation code and it says it is successful. When you say to download the full installer is that the base game? Should I uninstall the game and start over? If so what is the sequence of the installs/patches/upgrades.
CPT T
downloaded a couple of GL scenarios, placed them in the scenario file and they work. Also show up on a search for gl*.btt. Go figure.
sburke
Before they had full installers GL was a module you downloaded and installed. Now that there is a full installer everyone downloads GL and only gets to use it if their license includes it. CPT T
Everyone thanks for the replies. I have recently returned to CM and am trying to catch up. I just recently purchased the GL and have an activation key. I do not understand what a full installer is. This is all confusing to me. I have the disk with the 1.0 install. I have installed the 112 patch. I have purchased the v200 and 300 upgrades, and the big bundle. It seems that I am not installing/patching/licensing the game in the proper sequence. I can download GL scenarios from the internet, and place them in the scenarios folder, they work. I just don't seem to be able to get the scenarios and campaigns that come with GL to show up. I have no idea what I am doing wrong.
IanL
Ah, the simplified install has caused confusion for you. As @sburke alluded to BFC changed the way they do things. If you have CMFI 3 then the correct thing for you would be to download the full installer, you can find attached to your v3 update purchase. It is big but it has everything. You will not even have to activate anything since it sounds like you already have.
CPT T
Now that full installs have been explained to me I will try this again. I live in the sticks and my phone is my internet connection. When it works right. Had my son download all the full installs and will give it another try tonight. Any hints or suggestions on the order of installs/patches would be appreciated.
IanL
If you download the full install of Fortress Italy there is only one install to do. So the order is simple
CPT T
Oh boy. IanL if i have the big bundle full install is that all I need? I had planned to load the original from the disk, then patch with 1.12 and then game engine 3, and then the big bundle. This is what you get after being gone so long. You know next to nothing about how the game works anymore. Anyone remember the Rumblings Of War Tournaments. Those were good days.
Mord
Yes, just DL the big bundle and apply your keys. One DL, and a couple verifications and you are all set. No more fiddling with umpteen installs and patches. Mord.

CPT T
SUCCESS. Although I am embarrassed as to how simple it was once I got my hands on the full install. I remember these forums as being helpful and friendly. Even to those who just don't seem to get it . I appreciate everyone's help.
sburke
Woot! Yeah that is the whole point if the full installer but getting that message across doesn’t always work until you actually do it. I have discarded all my disks, I’ll never load from them again. I just store the downloaded full installer in several places so I don’t have to DL again unless there is an updated version.
