Armor Behavior?Not shooting?

it is magically what ever round is needed. They do it for ease of game play. That way the AI or the humans do not need to decide what round to have in the breach.

ok but lets say the ai in a tank sees infantry running, he is in the barrel, then spots a tank in the distance and decides to go for the tank, is the time to take the he out of the barrel simulated into the overall time to shoot ?thus increasing the time before firing.

Plus removing the HE round was not SOP, firing it and reloading AP was. So, depending on where they were in the firing cycle they would either complete the shot on the infantry and then engage the tank. Or redirect to the tank and fire HE first and then reload AP.
