Ask not what CMBS can do for you, ask what you can do for CMBS

Recommended Posts

Steve and whoever else contributed to this great game many thanks. There are days when I wake up that the 1st thing I think about is getting in a battle before work and kids.

So What would be the best way to help out the CMBS community and Battlefront?

I think this game is great and amazing in what it models and my ulterior motive is for additional content, new modules new vehicle packs etc.

For example, would buying the other WW2 modules (already own CMBN++) help or hurt with the chance of CMBS getting additional content.

Is the best way to learn the Scenario Editor and start building new scenarios, think about mods?  What would you guys recommend?

thanks

Brian

I can totally relate to that.

Cool post. This could be a great discussion. Well the most important thing is to pick something you will enjoy doing.

Given the activity around here I would leap at create scenarios as something that is moving along at a slow pace. If you look in the mod section you will a bunch of guys beavering away on vehicles and buildings and other stuff. There is one on going AAR on this forum right now. Another one of those would be cool too. There are lots of guys posting videos and screen shots but you can never have to many of those so post some of your new scenarios :D

I can't speak for BFC,  but I would recommend:

1) If you like WWII, try the other WWII titles.  They are all good and BFC does its customers right by patching in the latest features. Get them all if you are a big WWII buff.

2) Keep playing the game and have fun with it. Be forewarned that its addicting.

3) Share with friends and play multiplayer. It's a blast to match tactical wits against another human being. You can even post videos of your tactical exploits on YouTube!

4) I forget number 4. Just send me money, no checks :)

I'm going to buy Red Thunder and Italy with the caveat that this does not endorse WW2 gaming, but have the funds go more modern ;)

Probably start trying to make a maps and maybe a set of small simple scenarios to go with it. USA cross-attached platoon against a Soviet (oops Russian reinforced company) type attack.

This brings up another thought.  I searched the forum about Kickstarters and saw a few kickstarter / crowdsourcing ideas that seemed wither and die after a bit.

If it's not against the forum etiquette, what is the best way to seriously the feasibility of having Battlefront (Steve) consider a Cold War / Fulda Gap style game,  Would a kickstarter idea be well received if properly put together or is something like CM Afghanistan possible for a Fulda Gap style game (e.g. separate developer / license agreement)
