BUG: Fortifications on slopes (terrain + LOS)

Recommended Posts

I finished my first map for FI and when I place fortifications on the slopes (hilly Italian terrain) everything seems fine - until I run the test:

Suddenly the bunkers and trenches are sunken into the terrain, their meticulously defined LOS is gone and even the enemy can see their positions in the terrain.

It's not mentioned in the changelog but would upgrading to 3.0 solve this bug? Making the map was so much work. :(

You have to take a look at it in the game world. Go back to the editor and adjust elevations and terrain to get the effect you desire. I don't think it was previously considered an issue. One thing else, perhaps unrelated, but different terrain tiles will characteristically behave differently in appearance, i.e. gravel and dirt lots maintain a square edge for elevation changes, Mud will go round on the edge for a river that changes direction. stuff like that.

Hellas, I probably didn't make it clear, it is not a bug - AFAIK it is how the game code works - as nik said above, you have to work around it - in this case by looking at how your LOS is affected and bumping up the elevations underneath your fortifications so that when they 'settle', they give you the LOS that you desire.
