Childress
If so then may be they could be quadratic or exponential to get more granularity in the lower ranges while keeping the absolute levels at the bottom and top the same? You scared my cat with that last sentence, poesel.
GJR144
+1 to that. I've played a lot conscript troops in QBs. After a while we moved to green because the conscripts are just too useless - especially for mortars or tanks. But conscripts depict clueless farm boys quite well. But still overmodelled compared to clueless city fags.
noxnoctum
You make some really good arguments Paper Tiger. I'm glad you used the experience levels the way you did. How much affect do the negative leadership modifiers have though? I'm sure someone's done some testing on that. I'm never quite sure how much it matters.
Erwin
Perhaps BF could rename the "Conscript", "Green" etc categories to the more memorable "Clueless Farm Boys"; "Idiot City Pansies"; to "Original Gangsters" or somesuch thus simulating what their exasperated sergeants would probably be screaming at them.
Michael Emrys
But conscripts depict clueless farm boys quite well. In Viet Nam, it was found that boys raised in the country fared better than city boys in the jungle environment. They usually had more experience tracking and hunting with firearms and moving through brush. In an urban environment the advantage was reversed with the city boys knowing to check roofs and other places of concealment or movement. I suspect the differences might have been even more marked in the post Depression era. Michael
poesel
That was not directed against farm boys. What I wanted to say is 'Bauernlümmel' and my translation was wrong. The correct term seems to be 'bumpkin' or 'peasant lout'. These kind of words are always hard...
Michael Emrys
The peasants are aroused. They are marching on your castle with torches, pitchforks, and pruning knives. Michael
