Battlefront sends a direct email to those who have pre-ordered to alert them of the availabilty of the download before a general announcement. They also ask that those who get the email alert not announce it on the forum, so that the download sites do not get swamped right away. Of course some knucklehead always announces it on the forum and the download sites slow down. I usually wait a day or two after release, and get my download done in about a minute and a half. It takes time to coordinate with your pbem partners anyway. Michael All well and good for you guys Stateside.If i pre-ordered here in the UK it would cost me more.I'd have to pay some bull**** import tax for the delivery of the disc.Now i'd happily pay upfront for just the download without the disc but it's not something BF cater for.Now i have faith and the money to put upfront for this game.I just want the download but i just don't have the option without being severely out of pocket for a disc i don't want.Nothing democratic about that now is there.I just don't have the choice 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My comment about democracy, BTW, was intended as a satirical observation on the currently cynical way our societies are run. I can see how that attempt may have miscarried. Indeed,they are.I have bought and own everything in the CMx1 and CMx2 franchise and i mean everything and no,i don't want a medal.As i stated it would be nice to have the option tp pre-order downloads only but it's not a problem or a complaint.The option would be nice though. One thought I have to remind us all of is part of the problem with that is bandwidth limitations from the various servers. Part of the intent in the present arrangement is to prevent the servers from being totally swamped in the first 24-48 hours after release. If the DL-only option were freely available as a pre-order, obviously the number of people DLing it the first day would vastly increase, once again running into a bandwidth bottleneck. You can say that BFC should simply obtain more server space, but that also costs more money, costs that would have to be passed on to you the customer.
