JonS
FTA: The following photos were taken from 1914-1918 by [the writer's] great-grandfather Lt. Walter Koessler during his time as a German officer in the first World War. They're part of a collection of over a thousand photos, stereographs and their negatives that [the writer's] family has been saving for a century. This is an unusually large and complete collection, and [the writer has] taken on the task of preserving it and printing it so other people can experience this history too. These photos have never been published before.
Pandur
great shots, nice quality. WW1 is sort of my personal pet peeve. karl kraus immediately comes to my mind. -> Karl Kraus, Die Raben(The Ravens) from epilogue of "die letzten tage der menschheit / the last days of mankind"

John Kettler
JonS, Great pics! Thanks for sharing these. Here's one I like and is somewhat like the one in Hogg's Grenades & Mortars, albeit more primitive and with the springs inside the uprights. http://www.pictorialgems.com/public/upload/productimage/35256-31402-4.jpg Regards, John Kettler
