John Kettler
The title by the YT poster says 1943, but it's circa 1947-48 in Moscow. Be that as it may, here's your opportunity to see a staggering array, in color, in original paint, of German aircraft, German guns, German armor, German softskins, uniforms, equipment and decorations. Had zero idea this existed, but found it while hunting for German hand grenade throwing vids. Regards, John Kettler
John Kettler
(wind moans, dust blows, tumbleweed travels from left to right across the screen) Maybe I wrote a crummy thread title, or maybe there's hardly anyone here anymore, but I'm amazed there's been no other post than this one since I launched this thread. Stalins Organ
Good stuff - what is also interesting is how many words sound the same in Russian as English - I know about 5 words of Russian, but I recognise "tank", "millimetre" and a few others besides country names!
John Kettler
Fuser, You're welcome, and thanks for your amazing mods! You never did tell me, though, what to call you? Fuser? Aris? What, please? Stalin's Organist, Glad you enjoyed it! Breathes there a WW II grog who wouldn't? Tanki (tank), batalion (duh), divisiya (division) artilleriya (artillery), caliber (caliber) granat (grenade), kreyser (cruiser), raketa (rocket), brigada (brigade), komandir (commander), komandny punkt (command point/post) bomba (bomb, cannon), shtab (staff), aviatsiya (aviation). These, and more, appear to be migrations into the Russian language. Fascisti (Fascists, but really Nazis). Amerika (America).
