JonS
mine dogs where used in Stalingrad ... ... and found to be almost totally ineffective. Mice eating the electrical insulation were more effective antitank weapons than mine dogs. Does SoS include a tank killing mouse unit?
Wodin
I never understood the need or want to game the slog of a battle that was Stalingrad. The Soviet counter-attack that surrounded the 6th Army in the first place, or Manstein's attempt to relieve the garrison yes.. but Stalingrad itself? <shudder> Well if a game did it well at squad level it would be fantastic..but no game has managed City fighting yet. The Soviet Counter Attack your talking if a different scale altogether than what I'm thinking about. You couldn't do that at squad\platoon level with out it becoming a serious monster and time waster pushing thousands of units around. The Ost front CO game is covering Manstiens relief isn't it? One day a squad level game will do City fighting well with all that entails and it will be great. SoS is coy level and after reading some AAR@s it sound superb.

Broadsword56
Probably had a moral hit though..Knowing the enemy would do that to dogs.. To be fair, at least it worked better than the Soviets' previous attempt with mine cats...
sburke
Probably had a moral hit though..Knowing the enemy would do that to dogs.. or that the enemy had enough food they could not only afford not to eat the dogs, but could feed them as well... True that would have been a few months later maybe...
