M1 Carbine Model

Recommended Posts

Everyone knows there is only one correct finish for a Mosin-Nagant: PINE TAR!

Heh, for Finnish Mosins it's absolutely true. My Finnish M39 is finished in pine tar and has an excellent-looking arctic birch stock.

That, and Finnish Mosins are very accurate rifles. They took a lot of care in assembling and maintaining those rifles.

So one can assume that wartime shortages of shellac would occur. Russia's access to Thai exports was somewhat... limited during the war years. :)

Exactly. :) That, and according some reports, Soviet soldiers in the post-WWII years would dull down the shellac finish on their guns, since shellac can be shiny. It is said that was the way they could tell who were the new guys in a unit, since their guns would be the shiniest. :D

Obviously when the space lobsters sent soldiers back in time to change Earth's history in the 20th century, some anachronisms were bound to show up. It is unavoidable. Even the powerful Claw Mind's knowledge of the distant past is limited by the data in its buttery memory banks. Its delicious buttery data banks...

CMFI is just one battle in the larger space lobster campaign, after all.

Luke, your remarks are absolutely right. Don't listen to those who say that they are not relevant. You are asking for correctness at the level of detail that was chosen by the game designers so I presume they'll eventually amend these minor inaccuracies.

BTW, I'd also be glad if the Garands will start ejecting empty clips (and not fully loaded ones) but, maybe, this is why I always loose my firefights when playing as the US Army! :D

Is this just a graphics problem on the Garand ejecting a full clip. How prevalent is it. I haven't seen it but wasn't looking. If the graphic of the full clip being ejected is an accurate representation and no rounds have been fired then thats not good. May be its the first example of weapons malfunction in the game. Or should I be feeling a slight tug on my leg.

It's probably because the texture for the Garand only has one model for the en bloc clip, which always shows a full clip.

OK, here's another head-scratcher: the MG34 and the MG42 share the same 3D model for the receiver in both CMBN and CMFI. The difference between the two isn't drastic, but still, they are different. Here's a good pic showing the two side-by-side:

It just continues to baffle me why BF will go to great lengths to model the vehicles in such excellent detail, but then we get all these gaffes with rifles, carbines, and machine guns. It isn't like detailed photos and diagrams of these weapons don't exist.
