SkipG
Is there a way to blast a hole in boccage (or a wall) without having the engineers/pioneers actually go through it (and usually into a hail of lead)? TIA
mjkerner
Put the Blast order laterally down the bocage row from where the engineers are (on the "friendly" side, of course).

mjkerner
Sure thing, SkipG. By the way, if you do a forum search there have been several threads about this, and one of them has some really good illustrations from the game about various blasting techniques.
Lt Belenko
I ran a test on buildings with engineers. You can blast all 4 walls but the building will not collapse. Rather odd.
womble
Put the Blast order laterally down the bocage row from where the engineers are (on the "friendly" side, of course). Doesn't even have to be lateral. It can help to plot a Fast move away from the breach waypoint, since they'll go there, and if you leave them there will be exposed to fire, potentially.
akd
I ran a test on buildings with engineers. You can blast all 4 walls but the building will not collapse. Rather odd. The graphical representation is generic for all degrees of damage that opens a breach, but engineers using explosives against building walls is meant to represent using quick mouse hole charges to open a man-sized breach in the wall, not demolition of the entire wall and supporting structures.

But one assumes there will be no date restrictions in CMFI.
