gibsonm
Hi, Not even sure this is relevant since I don’t play the PC version but I thought it might be useful for those considering upgrading.
rune
Not quite true. They will support up to 1.4, but not add on to it. I am playing opengl games now on Vista without any issues, other then it is not as fast as directx. Rune
gibsonm
Ah so not an issue for CMBO, CMBB, CMAK? I wasn’t trying to undermine their new product, I just knew OpenGL had been an issue on the Mac side and wasn’t sure if it was on the PC side too. I guess if they support the version used by CMx1 things are fine?
Redwolf
The Windoze version of CMx1 uses Direct3D from DirectX 5.x, not OpenGL.
rune
Redwolf is correct, and CMSF uses opengl which is running under vista, but not as fast as my xp computers. Rune
LtCol.05
Hello, Just upgraded to Vista Ultimate. Everything seems to be working fine except CMBB. Anyone having problems with the game (CMBB) freezing after the movie runs while you are moving troops. I get a ding then a freeze. Thought it might be a video card issue (NVideo 6800GTX)so I turned off Aero and put CM in XP compatability mode...still no joy! Tried numerous combinations of one thing on something else off. Any help or sugesstions would be appreciated...thanks!

Rune How significant is the speed difference? I will soon buy a new computer and plan on playing CMx2 games ALOT.
rune
Different hardware, so can't really say. Also beta code has debug tools in it, and the final version always run faster. Rune

Rune So would you say the difference is not that great and may be insignificant in the release version of Vista?
