1. OK, have updated to 158.18's and now get At address: 6a80f835 But only when I try to highlight Allied troops. I can access German troops without getting the ding and freeze. Very strange...
2. I am also getting the same error except At Address: 69b0f835 Have the US versiob of CMBB. Also, running Vista w/100.65 drivers. I am going to give the 158.18's a shot
3. Hello, Just upgraded to Vista Ultimate. Everything seems to be working fine except CMBB. Anyone having problems with the game (CMBB) freezing after the movie runs while you are moving troops. I get a ding then a freeze. Thought it might be a video card issue (NVideo 6800GTX)so I turned off Aero and put CM in XP compatability mode...still no joy! Tried numerous combinations of one thing on something else off. Any help or sugesstions would be appreciated...thanks!
4. I have 328310 loaded on my XP Home OS and do not have this problem. I'm guessing then that it is exclusive to XP Pro....
5. Try here http://www.guru3d.com/ You should be able to find either of the above mentioned drivers at this site.
6. Outstanding...customer support will always keep me coming back. Thanks and Happy Holidays to all!!
7. Also, if anyone is performing an outbound email scan, that could be it. My Norton Antivirus was messing up all my sent PBEM files, zipped or not! Turned off sent email scan and all is OK again!
8. Madmatt is correct....the exact same in CMBO!!
9. Capt Wacky, Let's see, saw Miami play Indiana there in '74...brings back many memories!!

11. Capt Wacky, See you're attending Miami of Ohio--good choice....I'm a 1976 Grad!!
12. I use Roger Wilco (www.rogerwilco.com)and have never had a problem with that. MS Messinger tends to act up for me from time to time so I don't use it while playing CMBO... Good luck!

14. Have been running CM with XP for about 3 months now...zero problems now that the new NVidia drivers are out (using driver version 28.32.
15. I haven't had a refresh rate problem w/ the 27.42's...my rate(85Htz)stays constant.
16. I also use Norton Ghost to backup my main PC to my backup PC over my home network... I have a 40 and 30 Gig HD on my main PC and just backup a stable version of both to the partitioned 40 Gig HD on main PC. If I ever fill that up I'll just go pick up another 40 Can now revert to a stable system with all my most used programs if something goes haywire!! I also keep important data files on a ZIP drive (financial and the like)
17. Ah....if ir was only the white text problem I'd be very happy. CM crashes XP evry time. Sometimes I gan get a PBEM move in, but most the time I get a hard crash and reboot caused by a problem with the NVidia driver (regardless of version). I have tried every suggestion from all the post here and still the same result. At least after most the time I can get through a few email moves without too many crashes
18. Well folks, I've tried just about everything to get CM to work in XP, although operations in 98SE left a bit to be desired. I've spent numerous hours loading and unloading drivers and even just finished a clean install of XP just to get one game working (call me crazy)....no dice :-( I guess I'll just have to put CM on the shelf until somebody somewhere come up with a fix. I will definitely wait a long time before I buy the next version to be sure it works. Until then, everyone enjoy!!!
19.
quote:
Originally posted by Schrullenhaft: Did you have this combination of hardware running another OS (such as Win98SE) before WinXP or was this system initially configured with XP and nothing else has been run on it previously ? Yes, all the same hardware using the 21.85 drivers that came with the card....all ran fine under 98SE. If the GeForce 3 Ti-200 hasn't been used with this system before, then I would suggest the 'Manual' configuration of the AGP Driving Values. Refer to the Viahardware info I pointed to you earlier for some additional info on what value to try out. I have heard suggestions of DA and Ex values as good ones to try with Nvidia GeForce cards. Very leary to mess with this. May give it a shot though.... I suggest changing your AGP Aperture value to 128 or 64Mb. Have tried them all from 32 to 256--same results Have you tried out turning off the AGP 4X setting ? This will default your system back to AGP 2X, which may or may not make much of a performance difference, but it may make quite a stability difference. Haven't tried that....will give it a look Again, I doubt that you're going to find an answer to your crashing with a different Detonator driver. Since you're consistently getting the same problem I'd think that it would be a hardware or configuration issue.

Right now I'm running the 22.50 drivers....I can at least get through a PBEM move with these. Forget TCP/IP. Thanks again for all the help!!
20. I agree...doesn't seem to matter what driver I have. Changed AGP Aperture Size to 32. All the others the same: enabled auto Drive value can't be set when on auto...if you go to manual driving control you can change driving value, but need a hex # thus your likely DA value. Although when in auto mine is 00. I do not have on board sound etc.... Went to CM and it looked good for about 60 seconds, then got an IRQL address error??? CM is the only program I'm having trouble with....I still believe it's a video driver issue and will keep trying different (old and beta) drivers to see if I can get this to work... If you can think of anything else, please pass it on!! Thanks for all you time,
21. Thanks for the reply!! Q. Are you overclocking either your video card or your CPU ? No I do not overclock anything.... Q. What other AGP settings do you have in your CMOS/BIOS setup ? I have settings from 16-256. I haven't tried 16 or 32.... Q. What motherboard are you using and have you updated the BIOS ? I have a Biostar M6VCG and I have update the bios... Q. Is ACPI enabled and do you have an IRQ enabled for the video (this is usually the default, but it is possible to disable it) ? I do believe ACPI is enabled (if it shouldn't be I don't have a clue on how to disable) and no specific IRQ enabled in the bios for the vedio card. Q. Is your video card sharing any IRQs with other PCI devices (especially any cards in PCI slot 1 and/or 2) ? My video card doesn't share an IRQ (in IRQ all by itself). My sound card is in PCI slot 2.....Does it make a difference?? Q. Will XP Home allow you to completely uninstall the Nvidia Detonator drivers and just install the video card as a "SVGA PCI Adapter" ? Yes it will.... S. You may want to run the 'Detonator Destroyer' to get rid of any drivers and settings from previous installations of the Detonator drivers. However, it may not work with XP and 2000. Haven't run that....I've not seen anything that makes me believe that it will work in XP. Might give it a try as a last result Guru3D (go to 'Videocard Drivers', then 'NVIDIA detonator drivers', then download 'Detonator Destroyer'). S. You can also download the latest betas from here. Remember to download only the Win2000/XP drivers. The only beta I haven't tried yet is 21.88 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
22. OK, I give.... Have a PIII 866, 512 Meg RAM, and a NVidia GeForce 3 T-200 running on XP Home. Have tried every Detinator driver from 20.41 up to 21.85 (clean installs each time). Either the game freezes between turn 1-3 or I get a blue screen telling me the nv4_disp.dll has caused a problem. Also, have tried lowering graphics acceleration and changing the AGP setting in the bios from 64 up to 256. Still no go..... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks,
