  1. impressive ! so... every 'object' is painstakingly replicated... Combat Mission certainly need to blow more trumpets out there. How many games do this ?
  2. now... lets see if this works Mortar Team - and i must say... this pic contains something which triggers deep feelings. i never thought or knew that Combat Mission contains so detail/realistic objects. my second pic... will speak for itself. i was speechless with what i saw. the inscription on the shell. bloody hell, this game is for real !
  3. bloody hell. How do u people post large images here? i can't seem to get it right, except for thumbnails or links. I'm on Mac OS.

  5. Hi All. Speaking of updates and improvements. How possible is it for current and future versions to beef up a bit when infantry gets close. I mean.. during the middle of a fight, and the rare occasion that you get two companies very close to each other... there is a very high chance that the units/soldiers are within arms reach. shouldn't they 'fight' with their bayonets, or hit each other with the rifle stub? and knockout rather than throwing a grenade at just 3 to 4 feet away ? I dunno - is the Assault function for this very reason? i never zoomed in under assault key. Perhaps i should. What do you all think?
  6. From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered- We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. :-) The fact that the series has been going with a certain momentum... speaks for itself, that they will take care of us, our needs, and the more holistic approaches required to take the game into 2015 and beyond.
  7. Yes. AND, i just followed the steps AGAIN, and it appears that i DO have a small number of mods that are being visible... so. ok ! managing. DO i i need to rename 'files' with a z letter too. Or the fact that they're in a z folder is enough ? And.. let's say a particular mod has uniforms and patches for the 1st, the 2nd, the 3rd Inf etc etc.... the mod only assumes one of them ? Or are all of them taken into account by the game ?
  8. And.. would u be kind enough., as to send me just two examples.. to try them out and compare. 10x
  9. So they go under Contents/Resources/Data/ in there i create a z folder.. and dump all in it ? And thats it ?
  10. i have a suspicion its because i am running on Engine 3.0... most mods I'm seeing are 1.0 and/or 2.0 :-/ Could this be ?
  11. oh yes i have. The only perhaps 'dilemma' i had is whether i put a folder obtained AFTER extracting the zip file.. or Empty the contents of the extracted folder into the z. I just don't get it... Is here someone who is patched up with the latest Game Engine, and runs mods fine ?
  12. Hi all... not sure if this makes sense. No matter how many mods (folders and files) i put in the z folder in DATA folder.. i can't seem to see/get any of them working. I am up-to-date with 3.11 patch, running on OS X machine. For instance, i've tried 2ndbattalionranger helmets, plenty of EZ mods for uniforms.. any feedback please ? Of anyone had this problem too?
  13. Hi all. I noticed, on BF repository one of the most downloaded campaign of all time concerns the Devils' Descent. Its excellent !! This focuses on the night of the 82nd... BY any chance, do you know of a repo name involving the 101st ? And possibly a campaign involving the town of Carentan. I have browsed across the forum already, and did notice some guys working on Carentan maps... but didn't encounter a download link or an official repo name. Thanks Guys.
  14. Thanks Pete - great blog ! No - was not aware. And TheFewGoodMan is also another ?
  15. Hi all. So., besides getting savvy with the game. Learning both the easy and hard ways in combat... are there any favourite sites, or books that accompany hand-by-hand CM tactics. I heard Michael Dorosh's Tactical Wargamer Issues are nice ? Do they (for example) really influence gameplay in CM. What are your thoughts?
  16. God dammit Sarge - i knew i had a problem with my eyesight Thanks guys... i think the vivid colors are more easy on the eyes. However, i can imagine some one using the WM option, as a means to record them - well, movie-like. And not necessarily playing minutes after minutes with that option. Did you all ever think, how it would look like to play CM in 3D rendering environment. Who would pay for that ? (as in, Cinematic 3D-like gameplay)
  17. True true, is war movie mode more true to the real-life colors, and the original more comic-like ? Any thoughts about this. WM does look gritty, adding more 'realism' perhaps ?
  18. Anyone notice a performance boost when in War Movie Mode (Alt-M/Ctrl-M) versus the original screen settings ? Probably due to the cut in colors, and a higher count on grey scale. And whilst we are at it, do you like War Movie Mode ? So far, i have mixed feelings. It's ok in Daylight missions, but horrible @ night.
  19. Hi guys. Not exactly related to Bastogne - but doesn't really warrant a new thread... Can anyone tell me how to 'activate' or 'check' the frames per second of the game. I saw it on pics showing on the top left corner. Is there a command I could press ? (A combination of keyboard commands?) thanks lads.
  20. Well - this IS interesting. In fact, I never tested/checked this. If one fires mortar rounds or Tank Shell into ground... I believe a form of crater is formed... Does this offer protection ? protect again enemy LOS ?
  21. Hey all. Correct. the Divisional patch is on the left ! Sorry for that. Geez.... the community here is very accurate. Thats' a nice refreshing twist to many other obsolete (inaccurate) ones Looking forward for more exciting updates to CM in near future
  22. I think virtuous and respectable 'AA' patch is more fitting :-) I noticed the AA patch (82nd) & Screaming Eagle (101st) are found in the scenario editor.
  23. OMG - infamous is for 'evil' deeds.... I intended the complete opposite., more than famous actually. Sorry for that. I hope I won't get a discharge for this.
