John Kettler , I've seen dual S-5 MRLS on the basis of ZIL-131 saw 5-6 years ago in the South Ossetia army. It looked ridiculous to be honest.

The Russian army is often practiced such a thing, when one of the squad leader in platoon takes BMP and commands all combat vehicles in platoon. In other cases, the crews are on their own or receive commands from the squad leader or leader platoon.. В российской армии часто практикуется такая вещь , когда один из командиров отделения во взводе занимает БМП и командует всеми боевыми машинами во взводе . В остальных случаях экипажи действуют самостоятельно или получают команды от командира отделения или взвода . Увы это один из недостатков в структуре армии РФ . Наиболее подходящие под западную структуру, является БМП-3. В которой есть 7 десантных мест и 3 для экипажа.

В 4м взводе , достаточно заменить единые пулемёты на крупнокалиберные пулемёты и мотострелковая рота на БТР будет приведена в порядок согласно ОШС . Л/С из других взводов не задействован в обслуживании HMG . А вот уже в мотострелковых ротах на БМП , крупнокалиберный пулемёт может задействован как усиление подразделения . И обслуживанием пулемётов занимается личный состав из роты по усмотрению командира роты .

К счастью за 30 мм боеприпасы наконец то взялись и решили заменить .После этого БМП-2 сможет прослужить ещё 15 лет , как БМП 2й категории если когда то КУРГАНЕЦ-25 поступит на вооружение .
