  1. This can be done by Player and AI. While you can't operate units to cut-off places without rail connection, new units from the purchase queue can be placed in every city with enough suply regardless of any kind of rail or road connection. This is a general game mechanic, present in SC:GC and SC:WW1. And I aggree with numdydar, it's quite unrealistic. In this screen you can see the deployment possibilities für China: While the Capital is still Chungking, isolated from the rest of China, all new units can be placed in every city. Even in Yarkand and Khotan further to the west. I can send you this save if you like.
  2. Exactly that is what the game option Soft Build Limits is for.
  3. Yes, but only if Greece is conquered by the Axis.
  4. I aggree to the doubts about unrealistic weapons for China. But for the Players, who wants to have such things, it would maybe a solution to unlock building these units only when the Soft Build Limits game option is activated?
  5. Don't take this AAR as reference for the gameplay balance in AoD only. It's just an example. This AAR is special because the Japan player was very passive in China and thats the reason for this "unrealistic" result. But is it really unrealistic? If Japan had really done no war in China, if Kuomintang had no enemy besides the Communists (they were very weak in this time), if they had 2 years time to organize their country, to build troops, to buy wapons from the USA - is it really unthinkable that China could push Japan to the coastline? I can tell you that there are enough possibilities for the Japan player in AoD. You can crush China with terrible losses. You can push China back to defendable positions with moderate losses. You can ignore China and get the bill after short time. Second thing: it's impossible to implement the Chinese Civil War because this would require a third player party. Who should control the Communist China?
  6. Also a Soviet attack on Finland should be sanctioned. At least with the cancelling Allied relief supplies.
  7. Be careful with such statements. Never forget: we play a historical simulation and today we all know, that the Ardennes are passable by large Tank groups and this is the reason, why today nobody would make this historical mistake. Going one step further ... todays knowing that the war wasn't winnable by the Axis would lead to the consequence, not to go to the war: We wouldn't play such historical simulation games.
  8. I also. But didn't we talking about June 1941? Anyway ... The Russians start with 1 Tech advance and because they have nothing important to do with their MPP it's easy to keep this advance over the time.
  9. This is anything but surprising and certainly not a result of Jim's strategy. The SU starts with Heavy Tank Tech 1, the Germans with none. And the first turns there is a lot to do and too less MPP and a too small research capacity for Germany. If they have no luck with tank research, the things will go like in your game. In my game vs. HvS it's the same. Maybe this should be better balanced with the next patch.
  10. I would move up in the Demyansk area. When the enemy pulls back there out of sight, he maybe feels himself too weak.
  11. I aggree with you. The time ist working for China. If they get enough time to buy HQ's, research inf tech 1 and build fortifications (the have engineers in the south from the beginning), their positions get almost invulnerable because of too many fortresses and the bad terrain. And since last patch with the swap-hotfix it is much more difficult to conquer these fortresses. I have chosen a different China-strategy and South-China is in mid-1940 nearly in japanese hands. But the price is very high. It took about 2500 japanese MPP and nearly 3000 from china.
  12. Maybe it's just the same tech menu as in AoD? There are rockets available.
  13. That is surprising. In my testgame vs. HvS (V1.00.05) there is enough action in China. And it costs a lot of MPP, since China got some improvements with the last patch. But maybe it's just me and I'm a bit too aggressive. @Jim: Can you post more screenshots of the eastern frontline for me to compare the advancement?
