I have found that M60's stand a decent chance of significantly degrading T-64's and T-72's even though knocking them out is quite hard. I think something like a Tiger II could just shrug off Sherman rounds, but I am still quite cautious with T-64's.

That being said, I am currently playing a PBEM as the Americans and am getting very playing as the Italians in CMFI performance so far.

CMCW in '79 is like fighting the Germans in late WWII.

Except this time the Americans don't have superior numbers on their side while fighting tanks that are pretty immune to frontal hits. Even early TOWs don't reliably kill T64s/72s.

That does not appear to be the plan and it probably works in the same way that Bohemia's Flashpoint/ARMA are public games while their military derivatives VBS-1, 2 etc are supplied to military customers.  I guess we can hold out for some of the features of the Professional version being moved across to the publicly available Battlefront titles but that would probably be on a case-by-case basis.

Seeing NATO in what looks like Black Sea had me in my "Shut up and take my money!" mode.

No.  Evening, fog, dusk-ish.  One platoon ambushing a pursuing Soviet FSE.  The objective is to defend the highway and crossroad and bloody their noses as much as possible.  I have about 12 minutes remaining and I'm hanging in by tooth and nail.

I have to say that Soviet artillery certainly does it's job.  I cringe so hard when I hear incoming.

This was a great battle. I played it twice after getting walloped the first time. I used the reverse slope and turned the crest of the hill into a meat grinder while also avoiding the Soviet artillery.

  5. I played this scenario twice. The first time I largely stayed in the default positions and got hammered. I won, but casualties were extremely high. I thought about it and realized that defending on the reverse slope made a great deal more sense. I then replayed it with most of my force except for a small screen on the reverse slope. I put mines and TRP's in killzones and cleaned up.

  6. Ukraine is definitely the weakest force, but their units are generally cheaper so you can buy more of them. Their newer ATGM's are quite good and the T-12 anti-tank gun is surprisingly effective against most Russian armour, although it is pretty immobile and easier to spot than ATGM's. In a QB, I generally opt for using BTR-70s and buy more tanks and ATGM's, although autocannons can be very useful, but you can always buy Tunguskas. In general, I try to use APC's and IFV's as infantry transport and against enemy infantry, but avoid engaging with enemy armour as much as possible (the Bradley is a bit of an exception here).

I think the Oplot is about on par with the T-72's in game, so it's pretty decent, but I find that the T-90 is definitely better at spotting. I think that the best strategy in a case like that is to try and use infantry to locate enemy tanks as much as possible and then use numbers to your advantage.

Have you scrolled through the scenario listing pages using the 'Next' button?

    Indeed I have.

No difficulty.  I'm playing it now.  I did rename it Mission to Maas.  But I don't think that matters since it showed for @Wicky with the original name.

Are you on Windows or Mac?  What are you calling the correct folder?  This would be my first guess, that it's not in the correct folder.  Sorry, but just to double check, it goes in the CMFB scenario folder.  If you have the game running when you drop the file in the scenario folder you may have to restart the game for it to show (not sure).

Edit to add:  My second guess would be there is something wrong with the downloaded file.  If you right click on the file and look at properties, details etc. does it seem correct?  If not maybe another download.

Windows. It's in the CMFI scenarios folder in Documents with all the other scenarios. I can see it there as a .btt file, but it doesn't show up in the game.

As the turn begins a Sherman lumbers towards a Sd.Kfz. 7/1 and a Panther.

My flak unit cannot see the Sherman so I use area fire and pepper the Sherman with 20mm rounds. It buttons up and reverses.

The Panther promptly finishes off the Sherman.

To Verdennes and Victory is really a great scenario. Very fun to be attacking and winning on one part of the map, while defending and withdrawing a battered company from another part.
