  2. Russinan "monster" tanks weren't in the game if I remember but T-26 with two turrets was.
  3. Heheheh soldiers in CM are a cosmic idiots:D. I had a few similar situations especially with ATG's and shrecks (dammed assistant). Last time I was trying to kill tank commander with my marksman but instead of one shoot one kill I got a mp40 barrage fire:P.
  4. If you seriously, ok . This should be about 1,5x1,5km. I don't know if I will make the whole Sainte-Mere-Eglise because by now I have only two aerial photos. One from NW and one from SW. But with Google Maps a think I will get along with this. Unfortunately I have only a little time. But for two weeks I will be free.

  6. Idealist? Perhaps sometimes:). BF's creation is more advanced version of tabletop games:. I think this game is now quite good and don't need much changes. But without any changes this product will never be so good as old ones in old times:). Whatever it was? In pleistocene epoch as I remember:D.
  7. IMO yes and no:D. In real life commander establish a plan with his officers or NCO's and they do it. But when they do it they are looking with their eyes and the know when to stop, run or withdraw:). When I give an orders to my soldiers I never know that they will see the enemy or not. I know it is only a game:).
  8. You forgot about one small thing. In real life solider is trained and he can think by himself. In the game you are a commander and every single solider in some part. AI isn't very good in taking independent decision:). Good day.

  10. Hahahahahah . I'm especially missing sd kfz 251/16. I was doing horrible things in CMBB with this vehicles .
  11. You must also remember that Germans had many captured chassis and tanks of foreign production (for example Marder I on French Lorraine 37L chassis) or their own old vehicles(like PanzerII --> Marder II) .

  13. No. They didn't do things like this . First tank destroyers were built to fight with heavy armoured allied tanks (for example Char B or T-34). They must be implement very fast. Very cheap constructions like panzerjager I or marder(with big or quite big guns). Later Germans produce a few heavily armoured vehicles but still without turret. Vehicles without turret was cheaper, you could bigger gun and thicker armour. Good example is Jagd Panther. Original Panther has 80mm armour on the front hull and 75mm cannon (I love this gun:)). JP has 100mm armour and 88mm cannon (same as in Tiger II).
  14. I think for German player the best is force composition like in Company of Heroes Carentan episode . Scene after assaulting the town. A few halftracks, stug, SP gun perhaps armored car and of course many infantrymen.
  15. I didn't say this is no problem, did I? You are the one person with as you say Very limited experience (or not). I was always thinking that the battlefront isn't one-man project.I know how time-eating is map editor. I'm doing my own maps and I did a few by now. But the complexity of this maps is far bigger then than original QB maps. I also use google street views, maps and aerial photographs (perhaps I will add something for repository soon). This is very long process. I know that. I know the mission maps are quite good, I know set up the AI and test everything but... But there is only a few missions and operations and some of them are rather simple and not interesting (for example Barkmanns Corner). For me and most of my friends the most important part of game was QB. I was very disappointed when first time look this maps. Flat space with forests made wit 3x3 brush and buildings placed like boxes, without the conception. Beyound this we heve many 3D models, but sorry most of them is nearly the same (yes a know sherman is sherman). Sorry I don't have more time. I want to finish my st. Mere-Eglise but I have to learn now:mad:. Good day.
  16. IMO BF isn't overworked. They did some Sherman tanks, buildings and 300 (in base game)flat like table QB maps with 4-5 trees on it (I was testing this. I can do some of them in 5minutes without AI- forests without brush wood, farms without fences etc.). Sorry this isn't fair. The old CM's was three standalone games for reasonable price. Now we have modules for modules for much bigger amount of $'s. I know old CM's had many limitations but now this is pretty the same. I can give acquire command and I think is great but i cannot shoot the the aircraft. I can finally kill Sherman tank with my PzIV but i cannot use cover armor to make an ambush with my AT gun. I create a much greater buildings in the editor but they are not looks like in Normandy . And so on.

  19. Yes a choice. Nobody tell you: You must play with 30 sec turn! But if you want... I was think we also should have a choice with intensity of area fire (for example your tank fire full 60sec or only 1-2 times), but I don't believe that we will ever had .
  20. So this game is nothing more then very expensive mod for CM Afghanistan/SF ? I should more often read a news from battlefront.
