  1. Thanks Huba. I was looking for these numbers. I was under the impression that HE Anti-personnel HIMARS rounds were being delivered. Does anyone have any info on this?
  2. Animated map of first the Russian advances then the Ukrainian counter attack my wife found. it shows the lines as being mostly stable from mid April to early September, and then Ukraine counter attacks:
  3. I don't know if 2015 kills count... But I was pretty ambiguous, wasn't I. I went to give you an upvote anyway and I had ran out of upvotes. So here's a thumbs up and a couple up arrows: Woohoo! (also a free woohoo )
  4. Yeah. That's the feeling I get whenever I see one of these pasted together videos. I'm sure most of them or genuine, but it sure does reduce their validity.
  5. Unlimited upvotes to the first person to find a destroyed BPM-97 or BMPT Terminator 2 "Super Weapons": https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/russias-nuclear-train-is-not-necessarily-what-the-media-is-portraying-it-to-be I'm sure these weapons will turn the tide for Russia...
  6. Any chance that Ukraine could push through to the throat of the Crimea on the Southern front and block all the RA retreating forces? I've also heard from a couple sources that the USA is giving the AFU HE HIMARS for anti-personnel use against the new 300,000 mobilized Russians. Anyone else heard about this? (This is after the discussion on nukes. Please don't start that up again...)
  7. Anyone have a link to an updated map of the advance today?
  8. This is probably old news, but I thought I would post it just in case: Illustrates why we need to be giving Ukraine Western tanks, don't you think?
  9. https://understandingwar.org/backgrounder/russian-offensive-campaign-assessment-september-29 My vote is we get back to socks, Dan!
  10. Not at all. You just happened to be the lucky guy I picked on @Bulletpoint.
  11. Ah ha! Someone is finally catching on! I think it was either 007 or Spectre, but I'll have a hard time proving it. Everyone seems to think it was from Russia with love because, for them, the world is not enough.
  12. I am curious, which countries do you think have the most to gain by blowing the pipeline. My wife said that Putin had a lot to gain by blowing the pipeline. It takes some of the coop pressure off him if oligarchs have no financial reason to put him out of office. But she may have read that on this thread TBH, I can't remember.
  13. In my humble but correct opinion , Putin just couldn't stand not using his shiny new submarine the Belgorod which is specifically designed to work on the bottom of the ocean.
  14. They haven't been doing the smart thing. They've proven that. If Ukraine can keep up the pressure and the momentum, Russia is going to have a hard time reorganizing. What I've been reading on here is that their command and control has taken a beating, their logistics have taken a beating and they don't have the ammo to use their arty effectively to stop the Ukrainians. As you say @The_Capt, the smart thing to do is retreat to the choke point and they prolly aren't going to do that. So what are they going to do?
  15. You've probably answered this previously Steve, but does this mean you think Russia is going to start a mobilization? Unrelatedly, Does anyone have a version of the Ukrainian advances on the map in movie form? I was wanting to see, and I bet a lot of people would like to see, what it looked like from the start of the push.
  16. I have a feeling you defeat a drone swarm with another drone swarm.
  17. I am an Intel guy but the latest word is that the new AMD CPUs will have faster single core performance than Intel. At least for a while. With clock speeds up around the 5.6 to 5.7 GHz mark right out of the box due to the smaller size of the transistor. Also power draw will be a lot less, which means heat will be a lot less and that means that there is more wiggle room at the higher clock rates. Another upside is that the AMD CPU price will not go up dramatically (but unfortunately the AM5 motherboards will be more expensive). The new CPUs will feature the AM5 socket which has a higher pin count. The AM4 socket just plain ran out of pins for the new memory that is coming out. More pins means higher bandwidth which means more data can be transferred in less time. I am really curious to see if someone running Combat Mission on a current AMD CPU will see a noticeable performance increase with this next generation of AMD processors.
