  1. As far as I understood notifications of death (there are seems to be more than we know of) and talks from those that survived reached Kostroma around end of March. It caused shock among family members. Still Russia is a pressure cooker, and you will not see the verifiable results for some time.
  2. Reading Murs comments is apparent that every army needs Drone Fighters. And need them like yesterday. Orlan type drones behind lines can be taken out with LMM posts but to cover forces in contact that would not be possible. Handheld LMMs or Jammer guns are clumsy, unstealthy, you need to know when to "shoot" and in complex terrain small drones will be exceedingly difficult to find by ground teams. I believe NATO needs something like this but with addition of machine gun or even smaller and cheaper LMM. Let me add - every army now needs to have additional drone-based section for AA detachments. The army which would not have it will pay dearly during the next party.
  3. Another post with interesting tidbits. Lisichansk "neck" manpower Why Donetsk is not covered by arty Drone applicability Avdiivka manpower Donetsk - but I do not know. This one smells fishy (and could be fishy). Why Ukraine debacle is NOT just Putin delusion.
  4. Murz published another rant. Interesting part is his discussion of conversation between Girkin and Kvatchkov (another infamous nationalist). Both of them are former officers. And considered wise men. Well, Kvatchov is a crazed antisemite but calm one. According to them federal mobilization is not called because it would show dramatic degradation of RU military system. [As if it was not apparent 20 years ago]. Current LDNR are idiotic and showed dramatic lack of many things. The specific example - there is no plan to provide PCs and MF printers to HQs of reserve formations. So, officers either have to buy everything themselves (but the prices are hiking due to sanctions) or fight using pen and paper. It is worse than in WW2 because there are no typewriters. Back to WW1 for LDNR reserve formations. Nice Murz quote about the System I talked about (I will write about when I have little bit more time): BTW, it was always like this even during SU period. Especially during SU period. another interesting quote As you can see the one way to collapse RU army is to kill/degrade artillery. It holds everything in place.
  5. Kostroma is interesting because it is somewhat different from Buryatia or Jewish Oblast or Dagestan. It is a deep province, but it is not as "bad" as these three. Furthermore it is hometown of 331st VDV Regiment.
  6. It should be at Klintzi (Клинцы) town, next to village Zaimishche (Займище) in Bryansk Oblast.
  7. No need to flood. When are you going to enlist? Are you ready to provide photo proof? EDIT I am enlisting the moment NATO attacked. I am ready to provide photo proof.
  8. I cannot find now but I have seen map with percentage of KIA per population. Most affected per population are indeed minorities like Dagestan or Byritia. Do not ask a Russian about war. Ask him when he is going to enlist. Any Russian who is older 20 years remembers Grozny. Any Russians who is older 30 remembers Afghan. Reality is even ultra nationalists know perfectly well that Ru generals are incompetent butchers. So majority of them want somebody else to answer the call. Let me give you example - this funny DMS guy. He is relatively young(like 30), has no family, unimportant job and has shooting skill. He is an indoctrinated patriot who literally believe that in 2014 Ukrainian evil Nazis made coup and started killing Russian-speaking people. He literally believes his people are being murdered all these years and he is sitting it out. All you need to know about RU patriots. So, the majority of Russians do not want to be cannon fodder regardless of their support. It is just in poor regions people tend to enlist much more often because they have little choice to support their families. Better developed regions have options. Most likely it will be not just tipping point but crashing hammer - that's what broke Tsar (ww1). Thats what helped to collapse USSR (Afghan). Stalin managed to survive but he was mad dog and he had to kill or lock up a lot of people. Current RU oppression organizations are incapable of that. That's why Putin so far avoided call for mobilization. Extremely risky. It is not just about limiting conscription pool. What are you going to do with all these dodgers and deserters? You have to deal with them otherwise conscription will fail. But the harsher you deal with them the harsher they will respond. It's like creating Ukrainian partisans all over the country. They are not going to fight for Ukraine. They are not going to even fight but they will **** around, steal, rob, drunk, pillage, rape, shoot and doing usual stupid stuff military aged males do when they have nothing to do. That's like 1917 all over again. It's a nightmarish scenario for RU government.
  9. Misha, as I said numerous times reality is different from your imagination. Let look at UK (just 1.5 times bigger then Ukraine) It will take several years and will require international help. But it is not as impossible as you imply.
  10. Let me remind you that collaboration with an enemy is a high treason. It is profoundly serious crime punishable by death in wartime. What exactly you do not like? You are literally killing traitors under peacetime conditions but then you come here and claim how bad for Ukrainians to punish collaborators! Do you feel hypocrisy here? I know you do not, that's rhetorical question.
  11. I have not visited China as well. But I have a close friend who made business trip to HK like 10 years ago. He was happy European who seems to be faced totalitarian regime for a first time. After the trip for a couple of days he was smoking constantly and tried to tell me about the horror of forced abortions. Poor guy. Never heard about forced famine when parents were forced to feed their families with their kids.
  12. Hello, Misha! Glad to see you again! Are you going to rant about Battlefront morally corrupted westerners on your blog again? Just asking. Regarding your usual wild imagination let me remind you that expelling illegal aliens is not a crime. Do You know what constitutes a major crime against humanity? You know like Nazi style crime with Nurnberg tribunal? Russian torture and execution chambers set up in LDNR to pacify and russify local Ukrainians. We talked about it back then but for some reason you seems to be uninterested in this topic. Wonder why?
  13. Start with China. Tell me about Yugurs. Proceed to NK and finish with Taiwan and other countries having to contend now with ChinaBear.
  14. Never said strategy to rely on Allies to distract enough Germans is not costly. It is just a different strategy from Attrition. You forgot Asian catastrophes + Africa and Latin America suffering. It will continue until the West learns the lesson that you do not live with the evil. You crush it the first suitable opportunity. Otherwise it will grow and attempt to crash you. West could crash Russia in 90s with little to no problems. West could crash Russia in 14 with some problems. West still can crash Russia at considerable cost to itself. We will see whether the West will do right thing or it will decide to wait till Russia brings nukes to the party. There are two friends Russia hopes to bring to a party - Army and Nukes. Army will not be able to attend the next one. That leaves Russia with the only choice...
  15. But you wasted my time with your irrelevant photo, with your lack of relevant knowledge and with your ignorant baseless opinion.
  16. As a quick expedient to give their infantry assault gun capable threaten some tanks, yes. As dedicated AT weapon against armored attacks, No. They had better guns. It is a dirty word in Russia as well. It is just everything else they try usually does not work due to sheer political and military incompetence and at the end they fall back to simplest one - throw everything and kitchen sink at enemy and hope it sticks. By beginning 44 SU faced grim outlook due to their inability to deal with German panzer reserves. But fortunately, by 44 Germans had inadequate panzer reserves (and abysmal Luft forces) on Eastern front due to Allied pressure (check Panzerlage 15.6.44). It is not Attrition Strategy. It is Rely-on-Allies-to-distract-enougth-Germans-to-beat-them strategy. This strategy indeed worked.
  17. So, your panther photo was on topic but my question about your knowledge of Red Army is not. Still your lack of knowledge is duly noted. They do not mostly work because Soviet made mistake analyzing WW2. Based on that analysis they believed that massed mechanized attack under massed artillery barrage will allow them to quickly penetrate AT defenses. They underestimated AT defenses both in WW2 and Cold War. Also they overestimated their artillery ability to suppress AT defenses. We know it for sure because Soviets put it to test with Syrians against modest Israel AT defenses and it failed spectacularly.
  18. You do realize that this is game have to idealize forces otherwise it would be unplayable? Remove AP rounds from 76mm guns, adjust small arms ammo and leadership modifiers according to provided report and try to defend against German panzer attack. Then come back and report.
  19. Except I am quoting facts and you don't. All you do is posting unrelated photos and primitive trolling comments without substance. Tell me what was the official AT gun of Soviet infantry division until about 45?
  20. Quote from report by The head of the Operational Department of the 33rd Army Staff, Colonel Tolkonyuk Illarion Avksentievich about 33 Army battles during 43-44 Winter. Sounds familiar? Change few words and you will fool people into believing it is written about current war.
  21. You do know that Panther had around 30mm sides vulnerable to about anything Soviets had? Tiger tank on other hand had 80mm and was almost completely invulnerable to majority of Soviet gun until summer 44 where t-34-85 started to appear in numbers. You guys are funny. You believe I am wehraboo. But in reality you are redaboo with little knowledge about Red Army. My point is very simple - unlike Allies Red Army lacked several important capabilities and was much weaker than western public believe. But Due to uncritical acceptance of Soviet propaganda Red Army is seen as unstoppable Juggernaut. That unstoppable Juggernaut run away from Finns with tail between legs twice.
  22. Oh, it was Nazies who hid the fact that Soviet infantry division had no adequate AT guns and no AA defenses to speak of whole war? Oh, it was Nazies who hid the fact that T-34 gun and Zis-3 guns either hand no AP ammo (41-42) or it was of bad quality (43-44) ? Oh, it was Nazies who hid the fact USSR was defenseless against night Bomber raids even in 44? No, you didn't. You got access to little bits Military was comfortable to open. Tell me - when did you got to know about infamous Tiger penetration test which showed Red Army has no defense against Tiger?
  23. Not WW1 but WW2 - replace ATGMs with AT guns. This is how Soviet Cold War doctrine of massed mechanized assault was borne.
  24. RU one is for sure infiltrated. Wikipedia is to big to be left alone. Anything Russian speaking with significant Ru audience is either controlled or infiltrated. Even if it is not infiltrated owners got clear message to be a good Russian.
  25. Yandex is useless because it is literally heavily controlled. Google is somewhat worse engine for Russian queries. Also, I believe Russian department heavily infiltrated by RU propagandist and so at least somewhat sanitized. It is networking - you read liberal guy, he points to another liberal guy, and if you like him you add him to your list of sources. And so on and so forth. By the way, by liberal I mean pro-western and not like US liberal. All pro-western Russians are called liberals by RU propaganda but many of them are very conservative by US standards.
