My z folder works fine with all the other mods I have. I'll play with it. Thanks
-
You do not need the .bmp. Just rename it splash background.
Also put it in the mod folder.
removed .bmp and it is the z folder. nothing shows up
-
I am not having any luck with the backgrounds showing up. I am on a Mac, but doubt that would make a difference.
Dropped a file into the z folder and renamed it "splash background.bmp". Any ideas?
thanks!

I sent all three companies up the LHS. I pushed hard and as a company got used up cycled it out with the follow on company.
I realized too late that this would have been the best method to break through. What kind of casualties did you sustain?
-
I got a minor victory but with 41% dead, and 30% wounded. Brutal.
I used the LHS as well.
Did not get to use flamers.
The ground was horrible and fatigued my men constantly.
Never even got past Area 2.
Germany artillery was way too accurate for a wooded area. I know they could have used TRPs, but they always seemed to find my guys as they dashed across open terrain.
German defenders were definitely tenacious buggers.

Hey, in the next patch can we get FEMALE SNIPERS!?!?!?!?!
That would be hot.

Downloaded! Beautiful!!

The first mission in Russian campaign gives one a lot of ATR's (12+?) But am halfway thru and I have yet to see a German vehicle.
Yeah, far too many IMHO. I am using them as recon...
-
That's too bad. Kommisar's are kool:
he was awesome.

Let me illustrate by looking first at the six months of war in the East in ’41.
In Glantz's book on Stalingrad he states the the Russians, in the first 6 months of Barbarossa, lost 3.1 million men, but also raised 3.3 million men for new armies. Being able to replace what you lose is key.

Some quick comments:
Therefore, as commander of the Soviet forces you need to adopt a mentality equal to that of a real Soviet commander, not a German or Allied commander, and certainly not an enlightened 21st century military commander. If you are in command of Soviet forces, you should take for granted that you will have higher losses than you would if you were commanding German or Allied forces.

Easier said than done. I am having some adjustment issues.
I love my pixel comrades!

The AI defense is tenacious, well camouflaged and cunning.
I am noticing something similar. Defensive fire teams set up forward, after taking a loss or two, will fall back about 20M, and then stay put.
Thinking they have retreated, I walk into stubborn defenders.
-
They seem to damage quite easily. I had a red X on one and never noticed what caused the malfunction. I don't think it received small arms fire, but I wasn't paying attention. I had SU-122's to deal with.
-
I had two in the scenario Angriff. Never got a shot off. I tried from about 30M and 80M, but nothing happened. The gunner sat behind the tube for a little bit, then he sat back down.
-
My horses always run in circles. Is that a bug?
-
Hot. Hot. Hot.
-
On a different note, I played the Angriff scenario as the Germans. I see 4 SU-122's roll onto the field, all with riders. The SU's park. The riders stay put. I pick them off. They stay put.
I am wondering if the dismount trigger hadn't happened yet, but it does seem odd for them to simply sit on a parked tank taking fire.
-
So are these what are capable of causing my Panthers to become immobilized? I had a Panther ambushed by a Russian squad...they heaved a bunch of grenades and then it become immobilize. I thought it odd, but now I will have to check it out.
-
Well that was a big tease.
One didn't survive and the other never fired anything.
There is no range in the box for the afv, I tried at 40M, but the guy just stood behind the tube. And then at some point the flame weapons system went from green to red X. Didn't really see what happened.
-
Yeah I had a really nice surprise, a platoon of SU-122's just counter attacked me and killed 3 panzer 4's and 3 Panther's!
Are you playing Angriff? Those SU 122s are beasts. I knocked the infantry off of them. PZ IV, even from the flank, can't kill them.
-
It is really amazing the increase in intensity from CMBN (all 3) / and CMFI.
The thing that is freaking me out is the droning of airplanes above. My SPW flaks are firing at them, but I am realizing infantry and light AFVs are really exposed.
This is freaking fun...

You could fry a cow and get some nice steaks with that. I wouldn't want to be in that if it gets hit and lights up though and if you got taken alive and they figured out you manned one of these they would probably give you special treatment.
Yeah, I am keeping them in the rear til I feel comfortable moving them up. One ricochet gone wrong might set it off.

German Flamers!!! Can't wait to heat things up...
