OK, now I need to get the Vehicle Pack...Well done
-
Me too. I haven't been able to play BN or its modules for about a year now.
Michael
That is the saddest thing I have heard all week.
-
Only the FIAT 500. The Gucci model.
-
It's the snow. It will require a whole new engine. Think about it, EACH flake has to be unique.
And, due to global warming, the lack of water world-wide, the price will increase by $2.

Hell, I'm unemployed with no benefits (in other words, I get nothing from the government) and I still think it's worth 20 bucks.
When I was unemployed...for over 2 years (AND going through a divorce )...gaming was the one thing I always found money for. It was therapy. Kept me sane. Relatively.
So what's the problem here?Whiners gotta whine. Haters gotta hate. But gamers always game.
-
idea of these packs is cool, but the price is a joke. Maybe you should sell these vehicles individually? I'm asking seriously. I have a free 10 bucks and I bought a few of these vehicles.
You can send me the $10. Below is the tank I just created. Wasn't that hard either...looks great!

At first, I thought this was a trailer for a Russian film...nice eye candy but seems a bit silly at times.

I made my kids watch Sophie Scholl, the last days, the youngest ended up in tears at the end.
Imagine standing up for freedom, at age 22-ish, under such a regime. Subtle, but powerful "war" movie...

MG was good, but I never got too deep into it.
You'd probably get more for your money with RT. It plays a lot differently, when played as the Soviets, than the BN series.
Your mileage may vary.

Adobe has since switched to cloud based software. For a monthly fee you can download ALL their products. The latest version of Premiere is now Premiere 2014.
I am Mac based and use Final Cut Pro X.
It all depends what you want to be able to do with your editing. Like most software, the more you pay the more features you get.

Set a target arc. The units aren't hiding, just won't open fire until the enemy enters the arc you have set. Its under the "C" panel with target etc.

I've always been drawn to the Battle of the Korsun–Cherkassy Pocket. Don't know why.
Snow. Mud. Armor. Hopelessness. The usual ingredients.
-
That's a lot of armor on that map!
Have to see how it plays out. thanks

Johnsy: I looked thru all the CMRT files at CMMODS but couldn't find "Jewel". Do you have a direct link?
here you go

If the reviewer can play an hour and forty minute game in 4 hours, he must be very fast. That would take me a couple weeks at least.
Glad BFC got good press though.
-
First part looks great. I searched all over and could not find a file to download this scenario. Even at the Blitz site. I saw the review page for Jewel, not the download. Do you know where I can find it?
Thanks

I had a partial squad stumble into a minefield and lose two guys. They were not on hunt, just move.
The squad sat for a turn or two. No movement as none was given.
Then two of the guys crawled (with no order to move given) back into the minefield. Obvious result occurred.
The remaining two guys, said WTF and went AWOL.
-
I don't know about RL, but something like that was standard fare for playing miniatures. Come to think of it, I did a lot of that playing Panzer Blitz and Squad Leader.
Michael
I remember using a piece of floss for LOS in Squad Leader, and that still brought about debates between me and my brother.
LOS could be made favorable if you sort of fudged how you laid the string on the board, just a touch to the left of the hex center dot and it's clear, to the right it's not. That was annoying.

From the days when I was a DoD contractor making "realistic" sims I still think that it is impossible to have a sophisticated wargame that is "realistic" in the sense that is accurately models the real world without zillions of dollars, super computers and a staff of techies supervising the wargame. "Realistic" sims of that nature are also not fun.
I think that the CM2 series is already nerfed in many ways and the only argument is how much is sufficient to provide verisimilitude - the illusion of reality. CM2 offers the most verisimilitude of any competing COTS game available and that's why they enjoy a fanatic following including myself.
However, it is still primarily an entertainment product and needs to constantly answer questions like "does this feel correct", "do I believe that what I am seeing/experiencing reflects what I think should be happening".
Inevitably, this leads to "heated discussion" between players who get their "experience" from watching war movies vs the military professional. Accurate simulation of reality is most often boring. BF has done brilliantly imo to maintain a balance between those competing markets/philosophies.
Very good points.
This is one reason why I never understood the appeal of The Sims. A game that makes me "play" what I already do every day?! Ugh. No thank you.
CM2 provides me with all I need. It is my escape FROM realism...YMMV

Uncle Leo?
Best. Post. Ever.

You want cheese with that whine?
Two games a year is $120, that's $10 a month. That is unbelievably cheap fun.
-
Hi Juju i've download it at Greenjade.com, but where's the scenario...?...only have the 7z file when i download "The railyard at Pitrovsk"...
After you unzip the 7z file, it will unpack the items. The .btt file will be in the root folder, look for the "The railyard at Pitrovsk.btt" file.
-
True, but as of now it appears that it won't do any good for those of us who bought the games/modules individually.
Michael
Feeling left out in the dark here...

One reason why soldiers don't switch weapons at will...You are responsible for the weapon you were issued.
This is current day info, but I am sure regardless of the military, you don't report back with a different weapon.
From a US Army officer in 2010:
It matters. Oh good heavens, does it matter. You cannot imagine the hell you would catch if you lost your weapon (or had it mixed up with someone else's). Generally speaking, you can catch this early by yourself, since your weapon has more distinguishing features than just the serial number. The very smallest punishment for misplacing a weapon, if it's found within a reasonable amount of time, is a "Company Grade Article 15." That means you can lose one grade of rank, a week of pay, and two weeks of extra duty. If that's all you lost, you got off very, very lightly.
Accountability and personal responsibility for your equipment is something the military takes so seriously it's not even funny. Because if there's a fight, and you don't have your weapon, then you're a huge liability to everyone.
Sure, Corporal Steiner did pick up a PPsh in the opening scene of Cross of Iron...and guys may have picked up other weapons, but generally I think you stuck with what you were issued.
