The last person trying to access the core code of CM was last heard of seeking asylum in Ecuador...
Lol, or at least trying to...

TBH, I would be surprised if any of those other than the Market-Garden module make it out by the end of this year.
I'm actually in no hurry. Gustav Line will take at least 4 months to get through completely, and I still haven't done all of CW.
I think two more games this year would be too much gaming material. I'd still buy them...

this looks over. but then, so did the spurs/heat game tuesday night. lol..
I'm ready for the BETA AAR for OMG...

I don't know of a simple scenario...but I think the first battle in this campaign has naval fire. It's in the repository

A few quotes from the losing side:
"All I had to do was to cross the river, capture Brussels, and then go on to take the port of Antwerp. The snow was waist-deep and there wasn’t room to deploy four tanks abreast, let alone six armored divisions. It didn’t get light until eight and was dark again at four, and my tanks can’t fight at night. And all this at Christmas time!"- Sepp Dietrich
"The Ardennes battle drives home the lesson that a large-scale offensive by massed armour has no hope of success against an enemy who enjoys supreme command of the air. Our precious reserves had been expended, and nothing was available to ward off the impending catastrophe in the east."- General von Mellenthin

I did take your name in vain during the Scottish Corridor. That was one tough campaign.
The more time I put into learning the mechanics and application proper use of forces, the more I enjoy the game. There is such a depth to this game series I doubt I'll ever move to anything else.
And with OMG and Bagration due later this year...I don't see how I'll get to play every scenario / campaign.
Great work BTW. Thanks

I think that a good scenario should present the player with a number of meaningful problems that have to be resolved. Each problem should be solvable in a number of different ways, but should also require the player to actually think through the problem, come up with a plan to overcome it, and then execute that plan with a modicum of competence.
Precisely. This is why I have been gaming for so long.
Never used the editor but hoping to learn.

And they didn't even use the "War Movie" effect...

Secret weapon #315. Using the hover boots to increase LOS.

However, I still think from reading player's AAR's that Casualties are pretty high overall ( close to %50 and still functional ), and above the already high %25.
I just played "Men in Suspicious Hats" in Gustav Line. In the briefing, there is a quote from a German soldier stating that they took the town with no casualties.
I, obviously, was not able to do so. Not 50%, but probably 30%...urban environments are brutal.

OK, so is 12 minutes (and counting) to deploy MG in a building NOT a bug? If so, then I embrace the realism and picture my guys gathering up furniture to build a platform. If not, then I'll continue to be frustrated until it is patched.
What he said.
-
But why does the deployment time change from 20 seconds outside a building to 2+ minutes inside the building??
Are they sweeping the floor, opening windows?! Doesn't make sense...
-
I am in the beginning of Men with Suspicious Hats.
There are 4 HMG units and one HMG Team.
I am noticing the same thing. I have a Fallschirmjager HMG Team, deploy time says 2.3M {?} whereas an HMG deploy time is 10 seconds?
I moved the Team into a building, after 2.3 minutes (3 turns) still not deployed. Stopped saying "deploying" and it is still semi-deployed.

**********SPOILERS**************
Devils to Isernia scenario, which is a great battle btw.
My Stummel exposed it's flank to the AAHT (wasn't MY fault). The rate of fire is very fast, light armored vehicles don't stand much chance.
Good news: It was rather easy to convince the AAHT crew to dismount their vehicle . There isn't much protection.
First shot hits the Stummel
Multiple shots (.5 seconds later) destroy it
Game over
-
For winter shots it seems okay, but this looks more eastern front than Italy to me...bleak
-
They can take the KTs down if you can get the tank destroyers into good positions.
Precisely. If.
Overall morale, mine included, drop several points when I saw the KTs.

****SPOILERS****
I finished this last weekend. One of the things that made it so frustrating were the German barrages. I'd lose whole platoons five minutes into the scenarios. So I began to deploy troops further back in the set up area...only to STILL lose a platoon or so.
I did get the bonus mission and thought it would be a great finishing scenario...til I saw TWO king Tigers lurking on the far end of the map. How I am supposed to survive them?!?
-
Iron is perfect for multi-player.
In addition to having scouts up front, you'll need scouts on the flanks to maintain visual contact with your neighboring companies.
-
Didn't think I would like the war movie effect...but I do. Makes winter look cold

Modders! Please get to work! The beast looks too clean!
