  1. I'm trying to set up a test and I can't figure out how to change the tank ammo load out in the editor. In addition to clicking every thing I could see I even tried reading the instructions. All to no avail.:confused:
  2. Cleaned up the video new links 16:9 smoke 16:9 no smoke 4:3 smoke 4:3 no smoke
  3. What about engineers sharing demo charges? I split a squad of engineers and one of the teams used up all of their charges. I recombined the teams into one squad and then split them again and still one of the teams had zero charges and the other had four charges. Is there some thing that I am not doing correctly?
  4. Hello akd, Answered my own question, at least partially. The game does model the XO team taking over from company headquarters. The label of the XO team changes to company headquarters if the company commander is killed. But the icon for the XO team does not change, just the title changes. So yes the XO team needs to be parked somewhere out of danger, just in case. I wonder if the leadership qualities of the new company commander is conveyed to the platoons under his command? Then there is the "Operations Team", do they have a use in the game?
  5. Hello, Field Marshal Blucher, I tried that and it does the job very well. Thank you.
  6. Is the game modeled to form a new HQ from the XO team if the CO team gets wiped out?
  7. The XO teams that I have had didn't have radios so I made anti tank teams out of them with the weapons in the halftracks. Kinda gamey? The Support teams that I have had were radio equipted so I made FOs out of them. Also kinda gamey? But not much else to do with them.
  8. Hello Michael, I'm using a ViewSonic 24in 1080p. The 1280x768 resolution that I chose is between a 16:9 and 16:10 ratio and is as close as I could get. Its close enough that I don't notice any distortion. It also makes the interface panel large enough that I can read it comfortably. I used 1024x768 with CMX1 with a smaller monitor but with CMBN and a larger monitor it became obvious that the screen was distorted.
  9. Ok I see how its done. Looks great. Thanks for the tip.
  10. I'm figuring out how to make maps and it appears to me that there are no tiles for a dirt road intersecting a paved road. Am I correct or is there one and I'm just not seeing it? I see that there are tiles for a paved road intersecting a paved road.
  11. I'm looking at the road tiles in the editor and I don't see any road tiles for an intersection between a paved road and a dirt road. I know they are available in CMX 1 because I've made many maps using them. Am I just not looking in the right place or are there none available?
  12. Problem solved, no more squashed wheels and chubby troops. I'm using 1280x768 for the game, had to type it in, as it makes the game interface panel big enough to read comfortably. Thanks everyone for the help.
  13. Hello FightingSeabee, Thank you for the information. I will proceed to the game as soon as I finish typing this and follow the procedure that you quoted. I will be a welcome improvement for me.
  14. Hello MikeyD, I have a wide screen monitor with an aspect ratio of 16:9. I believe that they are becoming common. It appears to me that the game only offers resolutions for an aspect ratio of 4:3. Am I correct or is there something that I am overlooking? The only problem, as I noted, is squashed wheels and chubby troops but it would be nice if there were resolution options for a 16:9 aspect ratio. Wont be long before most people will have a wide screen monitor and this game is just getting started.
  15. I tried all of the possible resolutions in the game and they all make the tires on the vehicles appear squashed a bit. I have a 20.5in x 11.5in screen on my monitor and that is, unless I'm not calculating it correctly, a 16:9 display which is a common aspect ratio. I guess the squashed wheels and chubby troops are just something that I will have to accept.
  16. Thanks for the tips I'll see if I can adjust my display.
  17. This is a repost of A Panther gets pissed. I refined the movie and included some options. While playing The Crossroads at Monthardrou I was trying to take out a Panther. The Panther was located behind a bocage. I had my engineers blow a hole in the bocage so that my Sherman 105 could get a flank shot through the hole in the bocage. Problem is the smoke blocked LOS to the Panther from the Sherman 105 and by the time the smoke cleared the Panther was head on and had another use for the hole. At the start of the movie the Panther has just taken a 105 hit to the turret front with a partial penetration and there is a 75 Sherman in the distance taking pot shots at the Panther from the rear. Here is the youtube links. Smoke 16:9 No smoke 16:9 No smoke 4:3 Smoke 4:3
  18. Computer grog question. What aspect ratio monitor does this game look the most natural on?
  19. Great pavement, just what I been waiting for. Are you going to mod paved roads that are in the rural areas?
  20. I got a little hasty posting the link before I had refined the movie. So gotta sharpen up the video and get the sound working and then I'll post it again.

  22. Hello Andrew, I took a look at CMAK and CMBB specs for the Sherman 76mm. Couldn't find my CMBO disc. In CMAK : APCBC 100m @ 0deg 142mm @30deg 110mm 500m @ 0deg 131mm @30deg 102mm Tung 100m @ 0deg 239mm @30deg 172mm 500m @ 0deg 209mm @30deg 150mm In CMBB : APCBC 100m @ 0deg 123mm @30deg 96mm 500m @ 0deg 113mm @30deg 89mm Tung 100m @0deg 131mm @30deg 94mm 500m @0deg 93mm @30deg 67mm As you can see there is a big difference between the two and if memory serves me CMBO fell in between CMBB and CMAK. I can only hope that CMBN models tungsten for the US 76mm like CMAK did.
  23. No, I didn't play CMAK to any extent. I tried it but liked CMBO and CMBB better. That sounds good thought and I hope that is more like how it is modeled in CMBN.
  24. Hello Andrew H: Start CMBB and take a look at the penetration specs for the US tungsten rounds for the Sherman and compare them to the penetration specs of the regular AP rounds. AFAICT you were better off to just use regular AP unless you were going to be within a hundred meters or so and dead on. Now start CMBO and take a look at the specs for the US tungsten rounds for the Sherman and compare them to the specs for the US AP rounds. Hope my memory is accurate.
