  1. 10 years is the time scale for the '80s in Afghanistan. If you look at the casualty numbers we are likely already past it - by a lot. Soviet Casualties for all of Afghanistan (The Soviet-Afghan War: Breaking the Hammer and Sickle) 14 453 dead 53 753 wounded 68 206 total Russian Casualties in Ukraine since Feb 2022 (Troop Deaths and Injuries in Ukraine War Near 500,000, U.S. Officials Say) 120 000 dead 170 000 wounded 290 000 total So, in less than two years Putin has managed to get 4 times the number of soldiers killed or wounded than during the whole Afghanistan debacle. It is a tribute the miss information and propaganda campaign that the wheels have not come his regime.
  2. There is some abstraction going on with damage. Your vehicles can have each individual gun or MG damaged and therefore inoperable or you can have the weapons controls damaged and therefore none of your guns or MGs will operate.
  3. Oh, no that will not help in your case. It was for clicking on specific terrain forms. I was just using it as an example of drivers effecting mouse events.
  4. One of the first bugs I reported was a mouse clubhouse issue. Only AMD drivers were converting the point incorrectly. They had put in a workaround for the issue and then AMD fixed their big and then the game did goofy things in certain situations. So, they took out the workaround (actually they made it optional, it might even still be in the option menu). Bottom line the graphics driver is involved in handling / processing mouse events.
  5. Why would that be necessary? Buying the farm is one of the most balanced battles around: https://www.theblitz.club/scenarios/combat-mission-battle-for-normandy/buying-the-farm/b-15.htm?action=scenario&id=3583
  6. LOL I found that one by accident a year ago or so. I was scrolling and suddenly WTF just happened. It was very disconcerting and took me a while to figure out what happened.
  7. Well yeah, me neither, but there are people who need to and it's always better to accommodate that. Especially since so much work has been done in various website frameworks to make so easy to do.
  8. Nope that is not it at all..... We are not talking about the once you get to the Community page: https://www.battlefront.com/community We are talking about navigating to that page from the home page. Once you zoom in enough that top level menu goes away: Normally the hamburger menu should show the menu contents but on your site it does not:
  9. "does not have any concerns regarding territorial claims from the Russian Federation" See, the destruction of large amounts of Russian army equipment and the death of thousands of their soldiers has a clear benefit to the world: Some countries are no loner concerned about Putin's threats of attack.
  10. Sounds like you have that backwards my friend. Tanks have not had as much effect on the battlefield as many expected mostly due to the simple and plentiful man portable AT systems. That has effected both sides - this is why we didn't see tanks roll into Kyiv and why we don't see tanks rolling over the RA defensive lines now. The tanks being blasted from C4ISR is a contributing reason but not the major factor. On that front it's the AFU that has the upper hand. They have excellent C4ISR and precision munitions are are very capable of using it. The RA has much weaker ISR and much less capable precision munitions. The balance of C4ISR and raining precision strikes on the enemy is heavily, heavily in the AFU's favour. Ukraine is far from doomed.
  11. I have confirmed on Windows with Chrome, FireFox and Edge zooming to 200% drops the top level menu that includes the "Community" link and the hamburger menu that replaces it does not include those top level menu links. @BFCElvis Zoom in to see the problem <ctrl>+
  12. It's a browser thing not an OS think. With the home page up in your favourite browser click <ctrl>+ a few times until the menu entries are replaced by a hamburger menu (square icon with three horizontal lines on it). Normally that control will display the menu when you click on it. It does display a menu but that menu does not include a link to the community. To get things back to how you like to view them press <ctrl>- a few times or <ctrl>0 to restore to 100%.
  13. It is and that would qualify as "not good". At first I though you missed the hamburger menu button that appears once you zoom in but the top level links are not in that menu page. So, you are correct they just go away. @BFCElvis @Battlefront.com this seems like a bug in the web page responsiveness design.
  14. At https://www.battlefront.com click on the Community menu entry at the top of the home page. This will take you here: https://www.battlefront.com/community Then click on the link to this forum.
  15. Oh yeah there is a bug there for sure. Either its optional and things should work or it isn't an you should be required to correctly enter it to successfully log in.
  16. Yay, glad you are sorted. Lots of people have hit this.
  17. @Chibot Mk IX check that your email address is present, correct and the one associated with your Matrix account. See if that helps.
  18. Maybe maybe not. Note the linked article says the Polish education minister has said he is considering starting extradition proceedings. Hummm there is a lot in that sentence that make this seem more like musings than actual action.
  19. If find it a bit wonky. To play PBEM++ (including the tournaments) you need a Matrix account. It seems that if you create one for the forum community that one can also be used to play. But you can also create one for playing PBEM++ but that does not automatically create a forum account. If you log into both sites you will have two different log in experiences and even though the user name and pw are the same and clearly some syncing happens, they are really two separate accounts. Its not how I would set things up but it is what it is. Things like this often happen organically and then get resolved to various degrees of seamlessness. At any rate anyone that created an account to play and didn't bother to create a community account first is probably not a good candidate for checking their DMs anyway so C'est la Vie.
  20. One other wrinkle that I suspect no one else has experienced but your symptom matches closes to this: you cannot use a launching tool to start the game. Or more precisely my tool (Whose Turn Is It?) cannot be used to launch the game in order to play a PBEM++ game. If you do logging in crashes or hangs. I have not figured out what the issue might be but to play you have to launch from the .exe or a windows short cut. I did a few rounds with support trouble shooting only to find it was my own damn fault - oops sorry @BFCElvis and the super nice guy a Matrix whose name I forget.
  21. Try including your email when logging into the system (make sure it is the one associated with the account) with any game that is doing goofy things. We now have two users who solved slightly different problems by doing that.
  22. OK that's really weird. @BFCElvis another example of someone logging in without a valid email causing odd side effects.
  23. I'm matched against chic44 in another facet of the tournament. I looked for him on the Matrix forum and didn't find him there either. Two out of my three opponents are not on the matrix forum and do not appear to be on the other popular war gaming sites either.
  24. This is user to user support not necessarily monitored by support personal. Someone recently had issues with turns being sent because they were able to log in with just the user name and pw leaving the email address blank. When you log in do you provide your user name, pw and email address? If not try doing that and see if that helps. Otherwise contact the matrix support group.
