Help me identify all available Campaigns.
canuck97 replied to Sequoia's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Ithikial released his campaign "Lions of Carpiquet". Just took a peek into the maps but it looks really really well done. Really looking forward to play this. -
Courage & Fortitude scenario 3 buggy?
canuck97 replied to canuck97's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Thank you very much for this elaborate answer. That would explain why I wasn't able to get to the other scenario because I always cleared some of the houses/enemy positions on my way. But I had wished for a more detailed briefing on this because I think it's far away from being clear how that branching works in this place. -
I wasn't able to find any further info on this in the various threads, so I hope it's okay to ask my question here: Currently I'm playing the C&F campaign on veteran and finished the 2nd scenario. In scenario 3 "crossroads" it says I can decide which road to take - cross country or main road. I played the scenario about 15 times now and always end up in the scenario "bumper cars" - regardless of the road taken. Am I doing anything wrong? According to mission briefing I should only go to "bumper cars" via cross country road... I only reach the other scenario when I lose or draw this scenario deliberately (which I don't want to do). Thanks for any hints/advices!

advantage/disadvantage of packing mods into BRZ files?
canuck97 replied to canuck97's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
Thank you for your replies. That's an advantage of not compressing them for sure. However I'm just curious if there's any other point to consider besides the single file aspect and maybe the saved disk space. Even when it comes to performance I think that uncompressed mods maybe load a bit faster. Anyway, thanks for the replies. -
Since I compiled my own custom mods I was just wondering what the advantages or disadvantages of packing those into BRZ files are? The obvious advantage of not compressing the mods is that you can immediately see what's in it. So is there any advantage of compressing mods into BRZ files (aside from saving some disk space)? Thanks for any replies!

Same thing is happening here on my new rig (core 5, 970gtx). But not in the other CM titles, it's just CMBN. Any ideas?

which file contains the textures for bocage banks/risings?
canuck97 replied to canuck97's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
Again, thank you very much for your reply. I'll try the mentioned mod. I just found the thread where someone posted the complete file listings of the stock BRZ files. However the files still seem to be corrupted somehow. -
which file contains the textures for bocage banks/risings?
canuck97 replied to canuck97's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
Thank you very much for your reply and the illustrating screenshots! So it's basically a "lighting" problem and can't be avoided with another texture. I already thought something like that. So there's no sense in desaturating/darkening the standard texture further more. By the way: Could you tell me in which stock BRZ files I can find the stock/standard textures that came with the vanilla game? I know there's a thread with a file containing a list of all files - however I'm not able to decompress it without failures Again thank you very much. -
I'm compiling my own terrain texture mod and like to change one last thing: the texture right underneath the elevated bocages is way to bright. Could anyone tell me which exact file I have to change? My plain grass textures etc. are working well - but the ground right underneath the bocage is too bright. Thanks for help!

any "complete" sound mods for RT available?
canuck97 replied to canuck97's topic in CM Red Thunder Maps and Mods
Oh man, I just found the button. But it's really REALLY hidden and only visible via the main page (should be a link in the FAQ section at least). Anyway, thank you for your help -
any "complete" sound mods for RT available?
canuck97 replied to canuck97's topic in CM Red Thunder Maps and Mods
Well, you might call me blind or stupid but I can't find any button for registering. I already wrote an email to the listed adress but haven't received any answer yet. So I think I might just have to wait until someone gets me an account? -
any "complete" sound mods for RT available?
canuck97 replied to canuck97's topic in CM Red Thunder Maps and Mods
Thank you Oddball for your reply. I'd like to try the linked mods. However, I'm not able to download them without an account I guess? Sorry if it has been mentioned anywhere but how do I get access to those files? Thank you again. -
RT with more tank/vehicle combat compared to BN or FI?
canuck97 replied to canuck97's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
Thanks Sublime, you've just convinced me to buy it. I'll also try out Devil's Descent. Thanks again. -
Hi there, I just bought Red Thunder and like to install a sound mod (for weapons and vehicles). For CMBN and CMFI I've found several sound mods and put one together for myself which I'm using in both games. However especially the weapons in CMFI and CMBN are all in all the same (US/Axis) whereas CMRT should have some complete new ones (Soviet). So can anyone recommend or even link a nice complete sound mod (maybe one for weapons and one vor vehicles)? I haven't found any in the repository which includes the "new" soviet weapons. Thanks you in advance!

RT with more tank/vehicle combat compared to BN or FI?
canuck97 replied to canuck97's topic in Combat Mission Red Thunder
This sounds like the nice diversion from the narrow hedgerows/bocage country of Normany and steep hills of Italy I was hoping for. Thank you. -
Hey guys, currently I'm still playing the campaigns of BN (all modules) and FI (all modules). I'm going to buy RT for sure but I'd like to know if there's more tank/vehicle combat (especially over long distances) in RT compared to the other two? I watched lots of clips of RT and it seems that the maps are way more open than in BN or FI. So it would be good knows if the stock campaign/scenarios would feel pretty different/fresh compared to the more infantry/close quarter battles of BN (and FI to some extend). Cheers

Maybe consider dropping the resolution of the video a bit. Since it's only 15 min. in length (as far as I remember) it should decrease the file size quite a bit.

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I can't seem to find a way to download the newly introduced bundle installer package for CMBN? I once bought two bundles - CMBN+CW and 2.0+MG. I also got two different serials - one for each bundle. In the download section I can only enter one serial (tried both) and get only one of these previous bundles as download. If I'm right there should be a "big bundle" download with all the recent updates (except 3.0 upgrade). Right? But how am I able to download it? Again, sorry if I've misunderstood or missed something. Thanks for your help in advance!

Thanks for the movie, pretty good! Could you please tell me which mods you are using for textures (especially for the houses)? Thanks!

Old graphics glitchafter 3.0
canuck97 replied to mjkerner's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
There should be an updated CMBN bundle including all patches and additional modules. But I'm also trying to find it. In the download area I can only enter either my CMBN+CW or 2.0+MG serials. So I'm not able to download the full package? *confused* -
Okay, thanks for your quick reply. I'll get those upgrades anyway. At least performance won't suffer from it I hope.
-
Hello, just a quick question regarding this quote: Is there really an improvement with 3.0 regarding framerate and/or loading times? That would be reason enough for me to upgrade CMBN and CMFI to 3.0 each. Thanks in advance!

general question regarding sound mods
canuck97 replied to canuck97's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
That's a good qestion indeed. Since many mod packages use their very own file/directory structure I always thought that the system chose each file based on its name - regardless of the folder.
