  1. Say it ain't so!!! (always wanted a weasel, or a kettenkrad)
  2. Pre-ordered CM:BO way back when, so sure as shootin' I pre-ordered CM:BN. Finally! The new engine in a theater I want to play. Huzzah!
  3. I had hoped that evolution would have taken its course, and higher life forms would have evolved out of the morass that was/is the Cesspool, but I see it is not so. So now we await the rebirth of CMBO... there is naught that has enjoined the creative and antagonistic juices in recent years (what in the world have you all been doing for the past X years??? I'm just not a modern warfare guy - not since I learned that the pastor of my church as a youth was one of the Jedburghs, worked with the OSS, jumped into France, etc, etc. Modern warfare seems too... impersonal). Technology has taken over. Feh. Yes, some of us are returned "reincarnate", given that the progenitor - Herr Oberst - has passed away into the Great Bit-Bucket in the sky (i.e., too many OS re-installs and too many hardware rebuilds - through no fault of mine, of course - adding to that the simple passing of time, has necessitated the rebirth of a lower-cased Herr Oberst, doomed to obscurity as a newbie to the forums - even though I was one of the "Blessed Pre-orderers of CMBO"). Pshaw - not surprised to see you around, after all, who else would have you? Rune - well met, and I *still* hate those scenarios you designed Boo - well, enuf said. Everyone else - eh, perhaps in time you'll rate a comment. For now, time to finish off the last of the Lagavulin, and go to bed.
  4. Nice interview, and I have to agree 100% with the early Armor was modeled with engineering, infantry with effect. Mayber that's why I enjoyed playing armor heavy scenarios so much more. I even educated my sons into the finer details of effective armor thickness by keeping an angled front to their units... haha. If I ever win the lottery, I'll pay Battlefront to let me work on this game... as an investor of course. Haha.
  5. Being in the software development development economy myself, I can totally agree with BF's decisions about limiting scope to make deliveries, and offering add-ons (i.e., added value) for added $$$ (not to say that I don't, as a gamer, want it all NOW). Having spent the greater part of a few years looking at TOE's and the variances across time, it IS a non-trivial piece of work to get an accurate reflection of historical availability and unit profiles into a workable format. And I'm not even touching on nuances between units, or temporal effects. While it would be very cool to see an accurate representation of (and be able to "field") Grossdeutschland at any point where they appeared during the conflict, that isn't a scenario that yields a decent return for the time invested by BF. I'm just thrilled that they are coming back to the Normandy time period (been waitin a while for this as I have no interest in "modern" conflicts). Rock on BF!
  6. What about Hundminen!!! Or is that waiting for the Eastern Front... *sigh* demoted to junior member... that's what happens when you aren't around for a while, and rebuild your machine twice in the interim... all memories of logins and passwords are lost, so we begin again. Ahh, those old CM:BO Alpha AARs... yep, those were the good ol' days.
