Yeah but on this website posters are more likely to tear apart a WW2 movie because it has M-48 tanks in place of something that remotely looks like a Panther tank, than an actor playing a Cheyanne Warrior wearing the wrong style warpaint.
You have no idea the crapstorm i caused the last time I saw a Hollywood indian.

I keep thinking this should be pinned to the front page

Just installed on mew computer.
Editing maps in the editor.
Creating new maps using pre-mades as templates.

I am in the right forum for military debate? Think I have stumbled on wrong forum.
You are in the right place... Look around. Could a purely civilian mindset produce this sort of barking insanity?

Lots of beer. At least a keg. Per person.
Michael
Seconded

Be patient, it'll come around again. This came up and urgently needed our undivided attention.
Michael
And beer.
it needed beer

Conversely Japanese garrisons tended to have a big advantage in the fact that rice was a staple of their diet, and required no cooking or preparation to eat.
In most wars though the sad truth the troops usually aren't the first people to suffer for food. It's the home front that does.
It takes about 30 minutes of cooking to make rice edible. Thats 30 minutes of boiling in a container over a heat source.

So it's settled. We need to get Hollywood to make more movies set on the russian front.

Playing as Germans is interesting.
Messy and painfull. -
Does anyone know the optimal killing range for T34-85 taking on Tiger1's frontally?
Yes.
Its called "back".

I'm always thought that from CMx2 time the basic game rule is 'what you see is what you get'. But now something I can't understand:
1. Here is 'from the eyes view' from my Tiger tank.
Trees are on, zoom 3x, clear visibility, unbuttoned, no incoming fire, no any smoke etc.
I can see at least 2 T-34s. OK, #2 is concealed by trees. But #1!!! Tiger stayed in this position for 2 min. Can't see nothing.
Why?
2. T-34 #1 is clearly see Tiger, last turn he fired at it. He can't penetrate the Tiger's armor, but he bravely keeping his place. In CMBB he of no doubt will pulled itself back by TacAI. Why not do the same in CMRT?
3. Why my german 81mm mortar (not pinned, have ammo) don't want fire smoke rounds? LOS is blue. And it don't reject to fire HE rounds at the same spot.
4. In current PBEM game one of my PzIV's is appeared with and other (same model) without skirts. Are any difference between panzers with and without 'shurzen'? I mean only their external graphical view in game, of course. Or if graphic model with missed parts of skirt - are these zones are more vulnerable for ATR bullets, for example?
5. Mod question. In PBEM game after every reload my armor (not modded) still look the same - those without skirts is still without it, those with full skirts - still with full skirts. (I repeat - model is the same). If I will install Airis mod, for example with T-34's numbers on turrets - are they stay under the same number after each reload or they will changed it randomly?
Lt Kemp is still arguing with Gunner Halm. He is shouting down into the turret, and so cannot see the T-34s.

Tinypic did cause me to have an epileptic response.
not fun -
There's a movie called 'Come and See', available with English subtitles, about a young partisan. A very cruel movie. Not for the faint of heart.
I have heard of it.
But it has been made.
-
Guy Sajer's "The Forgtotten Soldier" .
Well that too.
I honestly forgot Sajer.
-
We have Cross of Iron, and Enemy at the Gates.
But there are so many more english language movies that need to be made.
My top picks are...
Night Witches- Fictionalized account of an all female bomber group that actualy existed. Look them up.
Lemno's Grand Finale- Pure fiction about a musician trying to compose a jazz symphony while serving in the soviet army. Follows him from the Moscow music conservatory to the battle of Kursk.
The Innocent- Fictional account of troops in a penal battalion, thrown into the Ryzev campaign.
Angel- A nursing student from the university of Kursk volunteers as a field medic.
62- The battles of General Vasili Chuikov.
Any other ideas? -
Lots more Westerners play the game than Russians, and the vocal and not-insubstantial contingent of OstFront-o-philes in that constituency doesn't counter the number who are mostly interested in the ETO. CMBB was the best-selling game of the CMx1 series, though; perhaps Barbarossa, Stalingrad and Kursk were bigger draws for that title.
Stalingrad has been the subject of an english language, hollywood movie. Bagration not so much.
