  1. I think you have to keep everything in perspective. The steelbook - it's nice. Never expected steel. It'll be nice to keep future discs in. The manual - somewhat disappointing. Hard to read because of the colors, small font, and stiff spine. I'll probably never use it it's so hard to read. But, IIRC I only paid $5 bucks extra (vs the price of download + mail currently). So I got the steelbook and got to download early. Probably worth $5. It won't keep me from buying future products. The game is awesome. But I will probably avoid buying manuals since there not very readable.
  2. Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I wasn't trying to say that something was broken. I was just trying to understand. I'm new to the concept of spotting vs LOS. Guess I'll just have to play more CMBN to get more familiar with it. : )
  3. In order to fire at my units an enemy unit must have LOS, correct? And wouldn't it hold that if a unit can see me, I should be able to see it if it has just fired at me? My frustration is that I have had several instances of incoming fire that I have no idea of what's firing and only a vague idea of where it's coming from. Seems like there should at least be a ? In the general area.
  4. At each waypoint, how long is the target command in effect? So how long does it fire before it starts moving again?
  5. I got my shipped notification on the 18th. And the box came today.
  6. Got mine today! I don't believe it's steel. And it doesn't spin. But I like it! Just wish the print was a little bigger.
  7. Thanks everyone for the feedback. Got my buddy set up with Dropbox and we started our first PBEM game yesterday. I may give the Dropbox Folder Sync a try.
  8. For you guys that use dropbox for PBEM, what is the best way to do it? Do you create a folder specific to the game and share it with your opponent? I assume they need a dropbox account too? When you share it with them you put the email address of their account? Then the folder shows up in both your and their dropbox folder and both of you can add files? Is that how it works?
  9. I got my "order status changed: shipped" email about 2 hours ago. Must be on the way.
  10. And I was playing on the easiest setting, not Iron or whatever. Maybe these lines could be available just on the easier settings.
  11. My desire for seeing the target lines of incoming fire is primarily to determine where the shot came from, not necessarily what type of unit shot it. I was playing yesterday and had a tank rolling down a road. All of a sudden the text came up saying turret hit or whatever. I scanned the map and watched several replays but never could tell where the shot came from. Was it something right next to me or far off? In which direction? And where did I need to move to for cover? I understand FOW and not always knowing what is shooting. But I would at least like to know from what direction it came. But either way I'm happy with the game.
  12. I knew somebody would say that. And I understand it. It was just always so nice being able to see where the bullets were coming from.
  13. I have to say I miss the target lines too. But not so much the lines showing who my guys are firing at but more so the lines showing who's firing at me. Is there any way to figure this out? The tracer lines help but are so quick they're hard to follow.
  14. I'm home from work today sick so BFC feel free to put the demo up any time now. I keep checking every half hour or so but alas, nothing yet.
  15. +1. This would be great if it could be done.
  16. I know I'm good with the processor and memory. I'm not sure about the Video and other stuff. Sounds promising if you've been using the same/similar machine.
  17. First, I'm not a hardware guy and know very little about it. I have an iMac that is a couple of years old. The details are: processor - 2.8GHz Intel Core Duo L2 Cache - 6 MB Memory - 2 GB Video - ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro VRAM - 256 MB OS - Mac OS X 10.6.6 or Win7 in bootcamp I believe this meets the minimum requirements, right? For both the Mac and PC versions, right? I was going to wait and try the demo to make sure but really want to pre-order either the Mac or PC version. Thanks.
  18. This brings to mind a question that was asked several weeks ago (by me IIRC) but I don't recall there being a clear answer. So I'll ask again. For Mac owners, would it be better (performance wise) to order the Mac version or get the Win version and run it on bootcamp? Or will the resulting performance be the same?
  19. I understand the Mac version will be available for preorder later (no problem) I also understand there is a limited number of steel boxes available (no problem) Is there a chance all of the steel boxes will be gone before Mac owners can preorder? (problem)
  20. Or maybe a simple interface to allow you to create and input your own names?
  21. YD - You must be me in a parallel universe. I can ditto just about everything you said. And I would add to it that if you get a Mac you can always run bootcamp and load Windows to satisfied you PC jones. For me, not getting the 2-3 calls a day from my wife with questions/problems was worth the higher entry price alone.
  22. Thanks YankeeDog. I understand there are a lot of variables and we won't know for sure until the final product hits the streets. I was asking on more of a theoretical level. Your response makes sense. I'll just wait. At least try to wait.
  23. As a follow up to this - I have an iMac and I run bootcamp with Win7. Will one of the versions run faster/have better performance (Mac version on my Mac partition or Win version on bootcamp/Win7)? Or since they obviously run on the same machine they will run the same. Will one of these setups have better graphics or less graphic issues. Also, I'm assuming PBEM will transfer between Win and Mac so I can play against whoever I want, correct?
