  1. Congrats! Sounds like great news. Are there plans to move the other Combat Mission games over to steam such as Fortress Italy , Normandy, Red Thunder ect.?
  2. Thanks for all the help guys, I got it to work! Redownloaded and made sure that the download was .bmp, last one I download was a jpeg. Put the file in my Z folder and started the game and there it was. Thanks for your help!
  3. I am brand new to the game. The only other mod I downloaded so far was a campaign. I unziped it and put the file into the campaign folder. It seemed to work when I went into the game. The file for the victory screen does it need to be a .bmp or jpeg or does it matter?

  6. Hello, I am brand new to the game, but enjoying things so far as I learn the game. Is there a hotkey to take a screenshot? Also is there a way of hiding the UI, overlays and icons, for the purpose of screenshots or just enjoying the scenery? Thanks.
  7. OK how do you put in reinforcements with the mission editor? I've used it several times and have a very general knowledge of how to use it. Do you have to set up triggers., or is there a setting for alloting reinforcement pionts under the army composition menu or somewhere else?
  8. Using the mission generattor and/or mission editor how do you create reinforcemnets for single payer custom missions? On the order of battle screen theres a tab for reinforcements but it seems to always have 0 available pionts and no slots to put units in. How do you work this to have reinforcements avaiable to be called into battle for missions generated using the in game mission generator?:confused:

  10. I'd be up for a multi player game. I not the best multiplayer gamer, but I have all 3 games and my time zone is EST or is it daylight savings, well either way I live on the east coast of the United States.

I was wondering how to set custom key commands for actions not already set by default such as the command HIDE GUI I'm trying to set it in the settings, command menu in the game and I'm unable to set any keys for this or any other command not already set by default. anybody tried this or figured it out???:confused:
  13. I agree with you it would be great to add a personal or custom touch to the names. Hopefully someone could figure out how or create a mod that allowed it.
  14. Thanks for your input but I made it through the Stuart Campaign (after some saving and relaoding). I actually enjoyed it now that I made it through. It was a good leaning experience controlling only 1 unit. It was the first campaign that I finnished, I did start the German one but I'm only in to the 2nd mission I think. By the way how is work on repairing access to the repository going??
  15. Moon thanks for your help I got my downloads reset and was finally able to download it and install it after 4 attemps and 3 different download managers. The download was stopping around 45% then at 96% until I was able to get it downloaded all the way with a different download manager. Thanks for your help. The game looks great and I'm enjoying it now.

I purchased TOW Kursk 1943 on March 29 I got my email with the download codes fine and went to download it and I got a message that the game was a pre-order and that it wasn't released yet, which as you all know is wrong. I figured it might be a problem related to the hacker problem you had a couple of weeks ago. So I waited and checked back a bit over the next few days, but still when I tried to download it I got the same message. Then around mid week or so when I tried again I got an error message that said I exceeded my total number of allowed downloads, I wasn't even able to download it once. I've checked back every couple or few days since then and I still get the same error message. When I first started having trouble downloading I've sent a couple of emails to your sales support about the problem but have heard nothing, and Live help has been offline ever since I purchased the game, I have noway of knowing if anybody is recieving my emails at all or if support is even working, there is no phone number anywhere so there is no way I can talk to a live person. I've even started a ticket through their helpdesk but haven't heard anything, don't know if it was even looked at and can't now find any information about it. So here I am on the forum possibly the only way I can make any kind of contact with anybody connected with this game so I can figure out how to get my game that I purchased!! Anybody out there......Help!!!:confused:
  17. Sargemy, I was wondering when you play with the balance mod 1.5 installed have you ever used the Stug III SPG in any battle? My Stug III won't show up in battles. I see it in the order of battle screen the enclyopedia and in the editor/battle generator but when I enter the battle (generated battle, campaign, or what ever) it doesn't apper in the battle itself even after selecting it in the order of battle sceeen before starting the German campaign. Other battlemod units do show up like the german Faustorpone units. I remember playing aginst the Bishop abit before, but can never recall a battle with the Stug III. Also I was also wondering with Centuaro and the balance mod installed do you have the lend-lease Stuart and Sherman II show up for the British along with the balance mod units?
  18. Has anyone been having trouble in the Stuart campaign from Centuaro? I'm playing the 2nd mission "Stop The Gap" it seems I can't damage or take out any of the German tanks with my Stuart. Eventually they destroy me or get by into the gap. I've replayed it a bunch of times and I can't recall a time when I took out just one of their tanks. I was able to take out armored cars, halftracks and trucks but no tanks. I know german armor is tough but, in my last replay I was point blank maybe 30m from the side of a Panzer III and seemed to score a hit on the tank but no damage it shot at me either missed or no damage then it fired again and destoried my tank. I not saying the mission is too hard but I was just wondering if their was a problem with the Stuart or the mission from the Centuaro expansion? to check the Stuart I generated a quick battle one on one with a Stuart vs. Panzer III at very close range I played it twice first time I got close to the Panzer and from the side shot and destroied the tank, the second time while firing at the Panzer my crew paniced and then my tank was hit and damaged by the Panzer the crew jumped out and some were gunned down. So it seems that a Stuart can take out a Pazer III so I'm just wondering why it seems so difficult in the Stuart campaign stop the gap mission? Anybody else having a tough time?:cool:
  19. I can't beleive this either. There was a normal manual included with Afirca 1943. Thats too bad that they're not doing that for Kursk. They should have listed it as a Mini Manual because of its small size and not make it sound like a full size one like was included in the other Theatre of War games. I'm glad I heard about this before I decided to order, I'm going to rethink things now. Instead of reducing what comes with hard copies they should do the opposite like Empire Total War did by offering a Special edition or collectors edition which would have more stuff, such as exclusive content for the game(units or maps, or missions) printed campaign maps, additional historical information(documentaries) mini strategy guide and yes a real game manual. As I did for Empire Total War by getting their Special Forces edition I would have also for Theatre of War 2 by spending extra money for a special edition, if there was one, with included additional stuff. Not just a few pages of how to install the game and calling that a maunual. I'm sure there would be others out there that would pay additional for a collectors edition of Theatre of War 2 Kursk 1943 if there was one with exclusive content. I hope the developers keep this in mind for future releases of other battles.(maybe the Western Front?)

I had a thought today I was wondering if it was possible to take units that are in the Kursk 1943 and import them into Afirica 1943 such as the Wespe or Hummel or Motor units?? would it be a matter of transfering over the appropiate files and putting them in the right place in Africa? I thought it might be possible being both games are similar and less than a year from each other. Any thoughts???:confused:
  21. yes I worked on it today a bit and found out about the balance mod 1.51 which is for Centauro I guess 1.29 is not. I got things working about 95% :cool:I got Centauro and balance mod 1.51 running. installing the balance mod cancels out the lend-lease units for the British (Stuart III and the Sherman II) and the Carro Armoto tank names are replaced with question marks as well as a couple British units I beleive are the Crusader Tanks. If I uninstall the mod then all is fine I have all the units even the Lend-Lease Britsh units and they all have their names and descriptions, but no features or units of the balance mod. So right now I have 2 data folders in my directory one with the balance mod installed and one with out and I can switch between versions by just adjusting the name on the data folder abit (data vs. data-1) the game only reconizes the data folder and not the other. Any help in getting the lend-lease units to show up with the balnce mod installed as well as fixing some of the unit names and desciptions would be greatly appreiciated. Thanks for the response.

OK after staying up late messing with things I got the base game working and the Centuaro expansion but when I now install the balance mod 1.29 it cancels out the Centuaro units and they don't show up in the encylopedia or in the editor but the balance mod stuff does so I unistalled the balance mod and now Centuaro is fine. It seems like I can either have the Centuaro units or install the balance mod and have their units and stuff but not both. Currently the Centuaro works with balance mod uninstalled but right now I don't have any filesid in the data/local/en folder all that I have in the data folder is Ai which has messages.xml and settings folder which is empty. When I install the balance mod it fills in the other folders and puts a fileid in the data/local/en folder but some how all that overrides or blocks the Centuaro stuff. Any help from someone who's running Centuro and the balance mod together?
  23. I need some help please. I recently downloaded the Centauro expansion it runs fine and I played the start of the italian campaign and I like it. Heres the problems first the Italian units from the expansion don't show up in the enclycopedia and are not available in the editor. In the missions in the campaign the italain units names in the main information panel and the popup infromation panel are replaced with a ? instead of the name. Also in the weapons panel to the right of the main information panel the weapon and magazine/round names are replaced by a ?. Now I figured that the flielist in the data/settings panel was missing infomation for the Centauro stuff, so I started looking into things basiclly I figured how to get the unit to show up in the enclycopedia, and have a name in the information panel in the game, and to be available in the editor, by maunally inputing the information for each unit. But I can not figure out how to replace the ? in the right of the main information panel for the weapons, no matter if its a machine gun or an AT gun. I need help figuring that out. My set up was TOW Afirca upgraded to 1.3 than I installed the balance mod 1.29 after that I downloaded and installed the Centuaro expansion. Should have I installed the Centauro expansion first and then installed the balance mod on top of that? Also I not a moder when it come to modding games I'm an idiot if its a matter of using SFSextractor to access some files or the centuaro sfs file. Some one would really need to explain every little detail of that. I've downloaded it and tried it to access the data.sfs file to see if custom soilder names can be made in the editor. I got it configured properly and was able to pull up files to extract after setting my directories but they were not the files that I wanted then I check them out in my extract folder and they were all empty folders. What does the mount and load feature do in it, when I try to mount a sfs file and then hit refresh I get an error and still no files. If someone knows how to use this program really well then I suggest they use a program like fraps to make a viedeo of them using the sfsextractor program step by step and post it up to youtube for others having problems to watch. I know alot of people have downloaded the Centauro expansion has everybody been having problems with their units like I have had? Is there a filelist for Centauro out there that I can tack on the end of mine similar to what I did after installing the balance mod? Other than these few issues I thinks the game is great and I'm having fun playing through the missions. Any Help Please?
