  1. cancelling the move and throwing it straight into reverse fixed the problem immediately - he's now back in action............ You see that tree near the back of the map Baneman - hes just behind that
  2. reverse, forward, reverse, forward or does the tank become unbogged over time, if at all? is it a dice roll thing?
  3. its why i shelved a few projects, just to make sure of everything and figure out what was going where, when and how
  4. poetry! no finer scenery was made by 'him upstairs' - truly gods country
  5. i was aiming more for some eery pub on the Yorkshire moors cum American Werewolf in London............ i see your James Joyce and i raise you a Brian Glover, not for nought he was the voice of Tetley teabags!
  6. a gentleman of good standing has sent me a PM, so im going to slowly back out of here swishing a large stick in front of me - nobody move, especially this Emrys character
  7. so if i was to go solely map building id need to emphasise they were H2H maps only? ASL do you mainly concentrate on the maps, or are you an AI demon too?
  8. Its easy to say ive fallen in love with designing maps - i think its one of the most rewarding experiences, not just in this game - im stuck however on the AI, im not adverse to it, i quite enjoy it but i dont feel im giving it my all, im not good enough, not experienced enough to do good, sneaky, OMG AI - but i believe i can do the maps that kind of justice. Am i right in understanding a map is just a map for QB until you start placing units on it and then it becomes a scenario? i want to concentrate on making good (hell, i hope theyre good) maps
  9. i cant actually believe im doing this - but absent of knowledge of where else to go, ive stepped in here. Cue stopping of music, cessation of dart arms mid aim, and slowly revolving 'denizens' toward the stranger within....... so, this PBEM lark then - who wants a go on me?
  10. now fixed the 2 random tanks in the axis set up zone, and highlighted the availability of the AI plans Enjoy i hope!
  11. as if by magic it has appeared - missing thumbnails and half the title - i will reupload again - but just text
  12. It seems ive left an Allied tank or two in the Axis set up zone on the Abbaye D'Authie map (no idea how thats happened) - ive fixed this and added some more text to the description - and ive tried to send it to the rep twice without look - the file goes but it doesnt appear on here as new or in the rep - do i need to delete the old one to send the new one?
  13. Did anyone finally make a quick and simple beret mod for the brit paras (red or green?) im going into holland with a scenario and wanted to unleash the little devils on the Germans - but only in the appropriate Hollywood attire!!
  14. Finally finished the AI in the Abbaye D'Authie scenario, and its ready for upload. Its a small company sized meeting engagement - Canadian and German forces clash on the outskirts of the town of Authie to try and capture the vital abbey there. The Canadians want it to use for the attack on Buron and ultimately the attack on Caen, the Germans want it to use as a forward obs post to counter attack the Candians sweeping through the area. The scenario itself is loosely based on history, the map itself is loosely based on the Boudicea scenario in Company of Heroes
  15. i think, and i stress THINK your units have to be able to see the base of the building, or at the centre of the building, or the centre of the base - one of those, i think - not much help i know but there is a reason, its not just you
  16. are you going to do the CW shermans Aris? i think thats all thats left on your CW list is it not?
  17. phew glad it wasnt just me i have tanks rolling up a street towards foxholed bad guys, they reach the end of the street and then promptly do a 180 on the spot - plans were changed by high command!
  18. someone did do a 'sparse-er leaf' mod to make the trees less obstructive - its in the rep. somewhere
  19. whats not fun? we're playing proper out of a box soldiers for gods sake, just like you did as a kid but its on the PC - the game works on many levels, im not a grog, couldnt tell you if the slope on the panthers front armour was right or not - dont care. But i bet it is right. Me, i like to drive my tanks to where i think would be a good spot, sneak up on the enemy and deliver destruction at my whim, others like to make sure the wheels are turning round just exactly as they would, in a marsh, on a tiger, in the rain, under fire, near a tree, in 1944 - and thats cool - because they probably do. I love small scale combat infantry, and this is where its at, im sure most of those complaining its too hard and doesnt do what its supposed to do were building Tezla coils, and double gunned chinese dragon tanks in red alert and loving THAT game - why? because its fun, you were playing the game for what it was. Where on the box does it say 'this is a serious game and you must have a furrowed brow to play it?' just set the guys up, apply the spartan knowledge you have of what a real battlefield is and PLAY. When i played as a kid on the carpet with little soldiers and a squad got wiped out because the marble took a ricochet off a slipper there would be carnage between me and my friend, mass arguing, mass shouting - what did we do, set em up again and played again, and again......... it was fun and so is this
