  1. {Russia} Minor air battle over Turkish skies. The ground is beginning to thaw but in all the wrong places. {Pacific} The Allies continue to island hop in the Pacific, an Australian corps recaptrues Port Moresby, while an Amercian tank retakes the Gilbert Islands. We continue to scope out Islands but it's becoming predictive that they are deserted. The IJN was pretty active in demolsihing Singapore, it's safe to say a large portion of the navy must be in the waters westward. {Med} British corps takes control of Cagliari after shore bombardment kills the Italian on the island. {Burma/China} Chenneault is deployed in China. India has a decent fighting force to contribute to Burma now. Not much offensively to report.
  2. {Russia} Frozen again. The Germans have formed a very pretty defense line. We are set on holding ours too for now. Red Fighters ping Bulgaria's capital and muck it up with German fighters from Italy. {Middle East} British moves in. Persia surrenders. Stalin back stabs the British and takes control of the country {Med} Allied Cruisers and Battleships rough up Italian corps in Cagliara, down to 3. American corps stranded in Italy. {China} Spare troops continue North to fight the Japanse head on should they break through. We can't muster much on our front lines, so we dont' even try. {Burma} Flying Tigers pop special forces in Thailand. I'm led to believe they are there for defense instead of an attack force as I originally suspected. {Pacific} American Navy finally shows its face. Cruisers scout some outskirt Islands, nobody is at home in the the Solomons or Gilbert Islands. We land an army to liberate the Solomons, while a US submarine scouts the inner islands. Can't find the IJN anywhere.
  3. *** Nearly 2000 views. UFC started with Rambo puttin up his money, but I'm glad to see this game is also peaking interest. It would be good to see a couple more armchair generals step up to start another thread. If not for the pure entertainment value, but to have a community of opponents to play in the future.
  4. {Russia} Everything is frozen. No attacks. Russian partisans scout between Smolensk and Kursk, we spot a pair of Axis tanks behind Smolensk. After careful (and I man careful) examination of the tank sprites it's concluded that the Germans have had research success and have tanks (lv.3). Russian tanks back off from Finnish fortress for now. {Med} There was no counter attack in the swimming pool, which leads me to beleive I am almost if not entirely alone in these waters. Our ships spread out a bit feeling out the Axis coast. Strength 6 Italian bombers spotted in Naples, we smell a great oppurtunity and move our Carriers in for multi strikes, they get intercepted by German and Italian fighters near rome, an American corps makes landing but can't finish the job, and are left high and dry for their failure. The Bombers survive at strength 2. Rome resists bombardment, the same for the italian corps holding Cagliari port, we spot German army guarding Albanian port, Spanish Army in Gibraltar. {Middle East} Persian defender eliminated by British Army. We'll walk in next turn. {Pacific Theatre} Japan is looking for new ways to break our lines in China. We free up some of our troops for the fight in the North. Japan has it's sights set on Malaya now, they are bombarding our supply. Only the rain holds back the carriers i'm sure. No action on Burma/Thailand front. -- Some good news - Soviet Winter strikes the Axis.
  5. December 1942 (Russia) Winter is about to set in. A few Russian corps take defensive positions infront of Rostov, while Russian Tank recaptures the nearby mine killing German corps upon arrival. Germans are staying back from Moscow, Kursk, Leningrad for now. Russian Armour moves next to Finnish fortress. Russians in Turkey have seen no action. (Medditerranean) Allied Fleets make some noise around ____ a few carrier strikes and shore bombardment musters almost nothing. (Middle East) Countinued bombardment of Tehran. There supply is getting low, our troops are closing in on the city. (Pacific Theatre) Japanese crack army (Expiedition +15) is targeting the HQ north of Sian. The rest are just pings around our lines. Some minor air battling over Burma/Thailand. Flying Tigers and American fighters but heads with a parked carrier and Jap Fighter unit.
  6. November 8, 1942 (Russia) A finnish corps scouting in the North is killed by a Russian Tank and army. It's raining from France to the Ural mountains. Axis are staying back a bit, no doubt reorganizing. The Germans control Riga, Minsk, Kiev, Odessa, Smolensk, Kharkov. (Middle East) British air is fierce over Persia, tac, fighters x2 and bombers soften up the defending corps as British ground units continue the slow march. We control the oil already. (Pacific Theatre) The Flying Tiger's are in Burma and get a hit on Special forces on the Thailand border. The Japanese still have not made their move. China remains the same. Some minor pinging by the Japanese but nothing significant. The Naval war has been quiet for a little while now. Things are sure to pick up soon. Some USA->USSR convoy raiding is back on the menu.
  7. (Russia) The Russians finally get some well needed reinforcements! They aren't sent to guard Kharkov or Kursk however, the city's that are closest to falling. We must let the German's come to us. (Middle East) British DOW Persia. Lots of mountains and few roads. The march to Tehran will take time. (Pacific Theatre) Three Special Forces, HQ spotted in Thailand. American fighters near Rangoon hit HQ but get caught up in a air fight with a Jap Carrier parked in South China Sea. Special Forces still spoted near Vladivostock. I can't tell if he's on the offensive, or being defensively cautioius. -- British and US Governments hold meetings about different strategies to embark across the globe. USA has been very quiet thus far.
  8. September 13, 1942 (Russia) No large counter attack by the Russians. A few corps left behind enemy lines try to break loose of the German clutches. Bock gets hit again in the process for 2 points. Kharkov is nearly totally surrounded. They should fall next turn. A Japanse special forces is spottd near Vladivostock. (Pacific Theatre) Japan turns their attention to Burma and Malaya. Penang port (Malaya) captured by special forces. A few more special forces from Thailand seem poised to try to attack Rangoon. No Naval action as of yet. The rest of the world is quiet for now. No axis raiding for a few turns now.
  9. Thanks for the feedback, I was aware of the Lend Lease option though, and use it accordingly.
  10. August 2, 1942 (Russia) Axis are definitley in control, there is not enough stopping them from grabbing the second line of cities. The Russians are going to ahve to draw their own line to make a stand. Very little in offensive this turn, 2 russian corps play musical chairs with a mine, popping German HQ for 6 damage in total. (Iraq) No reinforcments in Iraq means the British easily take over. (Pacific Theatre) Japanse bombers continue to bomb Sian and Chungking. No units dying, although in the south the Japanese are landing some nice hits. Brazi Joins the Allies.
  11. After getting home booting up and reviewing the chart, I see what you meant. I can assure you that MPP chart is misleading. Some of the flow of MMP's seems to be 'double counted' as the USA/USSR Convoy is being added to both coutries incomes on the chart. I don't know if that is a bug or if that is the mechanics of the chart. Maybe someone reading this knows? Whatever the reason I am certainly not making that specific amount of MPP's per turn.
  12. In class right now, but I can comment on the Economies. I don\'t see anything special out of the USA economy right now, I don\'t have the charts infront of me but they are pretty much where I would expect them to be. The USSR I have been lucky with tech no doubt about it, however I can admit that my research strategy has always been to go for early industrial with the USSR using nearly every chit I have. I have been rotating my spare room to garner some weapons, and that is where I have gotten lucky, but it could be credited to the catch up rule when it comes to weapons. The USA/USSR Convoy is something very new to me too, and I\'m not sure if it shows in the charts. It is a big change from having the middleman (UK) in between.
  13. July 19, 1942 (Russia) 4 Russian Corps are left for dead near the front lines, they scatter in all directions trying to ping HQ's or just reach back for some supply. A corps retakes the vacant mine. Not much action overall. Axis units are everwhere but supply doesn't seem a problem yet. (Turkey/Iraq) The reds quickly form some defensive positions. Turkey should make up for the cities we lost so far. British DOW Iraq and narrowly miss destroying the defending corps. We snag the oil though. A couple armies and a special force have entered the country. The Brits continue to rebuild their tattered economy. (Mediterranean) A few smacks to the Spanish CA, they will make it home unfortunately. American reinforcements should come in handy down here. (Pacific Theatre) Jap special forces finally pokes it's head into Burma. Stalemate continues in the Chinese mountains. A couple carrier strikes on ground troops near Nanning.
  14. June 21, 1942 (Russia) Oh the horror! So many Russian tanks laid to waste, I made a horrible mistake sending them all forward in one blow. Russian soliders will become human shields to stop the Axis march. Axis Armour has broken through our front lines in both the North and South. In North the the Germans have reached Smolensk, I deploy more corps to defend the city. In the South Panzer Groups have captured the first mine, bypassing Odessa in the process. Army groups Central have had not much luck as Minsk and Kiev still stand with many troops, although the Axis have captured some strategic offensive land. Russian BB escapes port and bombards Helsinki, we take the blunt of the damage. (Turkey) Stalin is mad, and takes out his fury on the pro Axis turkish government. Scook new it was too quite in the Med. The Russians and British made secret plans to attack Turkey and it was a smashing success. British tac air, fighters, and dual carriers flatten Ankara from Syria, while a Russian army moves in and dislodges the Turkish HQ in the capital. A russian corps lands in the narrow passage along Istanbul popping the CA in port, Russian CA, DD escape into the Mediterranean. Russian tanks move in from the Kaukas to destroy Turkish army in Erzurm. We get the surrender. (Atlantic) Allied destoyers want to keep fighting, we chase Submarine near Greenland, they dive, every last one of them. (Gibraltar) I foget to reinforce the corps (they had supply 5 too!) and run out of money. German forces surely see Americans slip into the Mediterranean before the door slams shut. (Pacific Theatre) Nothing too report. Scook celebrates the fall of the Phillipines i'm sure.
  15. (Atlantic) After the massive slaughtering of our sub hunters the Allies had to strike back. The Prince of Wales BB which was hastily stationed in Azores, with an air group to maintain control after the fall of Portugal struck first, followed by a pair of Allied carriers, more destoryers and the King George BB. We sink an German BB, CA, and nearly destory a spanish CA. Mixed results with destoyer vs Subs. The Axis ships are pretty banged up and don't have anyone in position for hit and run. Can't be sure if they will risk a counter attack or not. (Russia) The Axis are slowly pushing forward, it's decided that the Russians need to wear them down. In the North 2 Russian tank groups spring forward from Smolensk, we kill a German Army, and smack a 11 strength army for the hell of it for 3. Both tanks are strength 4, but that's what our tank factories are for. In the south the same, 2 more tank groups attack near Odessa, destorying German Armour, and reducing Romanian army to 1, but at heavy costs. Bloody retaliation will happen. (Spain) Southern Spain is covered in German units, Gibraltar will fall, maybe not next turn but soon as their entrenchment weakens. (Pacific Theatre) The Japanese are facing a wall of Chinese army's in the mountains. Could be a while before another Chinese city falls. 0 Success for the Japanese in the Phillipines, we are back to strength 10. The Japanese haven't even showed up in Malaya or Burma yet. Also I forgot to mention Mexico joined the Allies last turn.
  16. April 26, 1942 (Atlantic) Mixed fleet of Allied destoryers chase the Axis wolfpacks towards Greenland, dives, dives, dives! We nail a few hits, but none are dead. (Russia) First turns of clear skies have been bloodier for the Russians than the Germans, but it's expected. We attack near Odessa with a pair of tank groups, routing a Romanian army and smashing a German corps near death. Axis air seems heavier in the North so the German's are going to have to send some stronger units to the front lines if they wish to counter. (China) The 8th route army were legends amongst the Chinese, handing out huge shots nearly every turn. They will sorely be missed. The Flying Tigers attacked near Chengchow but their escorts didn't take to the air, bad calculation on my part. Japanese fighters intercept and do damage. (Portugal) German army, corps, Para are poised to take Portugual. Japan has already declared Portugese Timor their own. (Phillipines) Defenders are back to full strength in the capital despite heavy bombardment to their supply outlets.
  17. I actually had Chinese infantry weapons lv.2 a turn or 2 before you did.
  18. March 29, 1942 (Russia) Weather clears on the front lines, raining everywhere else. Germany is in an offensive postion with 4 Panzer groups between Minsk and Odessa, Scook continues to use his corps to shield them. Russians deply 3 corps around Kiev to protect the city from Blitzkrieg warfare. In the North Russia's front lines behind the river have held all winter, but there is now a German Tank group in the "sweet spot" left of Riga. The Germans have waited a long time for some clear weather on the Eastern Front, if it keeps up blood will spill next turn. (Pacific) The Phillipines continues to hold. Manilla corps is still able to manage full reinforcements thanks to the HQ in fort. Some more Island hopping by the Japanese to grab the usual islands. The submarine that wandered close to the United States coast is waxed easily. (China) With the loss of Nanning the Japanese surely will be coming after my capital hard now. They have been bombing the hell out of it for a while now. (Atlantic) A few Axis subs spotted off of the coast of St. John's. A mix of UK, and USA destoyers pop it for 9 points. Not enough for the kill, but we can't let them live fearlessly. The USA declared war on Germany and allies in the process. (Spain) German Para's and an Army ride the rail to the capital. Their target is more than obvious.
  19. March 1, 1942 Action around the globe. The Japanese quickly strike and occupy Thailand, Hong Kong, Brunei, and the Soloman Islands. The Dutch East Indies, and Phillipines are covered in Japanese forces, but still fighting. The Dutch Navy sails in all directions, no sense fighting it out yet. No Pearl Harbour means the US Navy is looking very very strong to start. A Japanse sub in the Pacific nails the Yamato flagship for 2 points. Not much news in Russia, the snow is bogging everything down. Scooks is starting to use his corps as human shields to block his stronger units from possible tank attacks. Franco's Spain joins the Axis, making fortress Europe a little stronger. Chinese pop another Jap Army near Chengchow for 4 points. We are getting good at that. USA sends Gerneral Stillwell to China.
  20. Well I'm hoping your right about UFC #3! I've been following all 3 games closely, it's nice to see a large variety in the games rather than all 3 games following the exact same path.
  21. February 1, 1942 German 2nd Army near Kiev destoryed by pair of Red Tanks, both retreat back across the river. The Russians deploy some more infantry around Odessa to prevent incirclement on our side of the river. There is absolutely no German advancement in the North through the snow, they remain on their side of the border. An Army from Riga pops an upgraded corps for a point. The Japanese are either reorganizing their front lines or pulling some troops out of China, it's too early to tell. The Pacific is turning into a parking lot for Amphimbious Transports. The UK needs to decide their next move. I have never played from this side of the Atlantic before. And the convoy raiders are back..
  22. Axis forces continue to push through the snow into Russia. Germany's 4th Pz. Tank group and 2nd army reach the outskirts of Kiev. The Ruskies reply be sending a pair of tank groups (revealing lv.3 tech) to smash the 2nd army. We wanted the kill, but will settle for 7-1 decision. German forces can't make a dent in the North, not yet with all the snow. Yes I freed up alot troops in Ehtiopia, but I had troops freed up already as the Syrian people just found out. The UK needs to expand after losing so much territory. We DOW Syria, (upsetting the Iraqi's). Long Range desert group and a pair of British armies move in and occupy the country. Interesting to note, all convoy raiding ceased. Hmm.. Nothing going on in China. I have alot of troops, I don't think there is any chance of China losing this war.
  23. War in Russia has proven to be anything but epic. Not a single Russian shot is fired through the blistering snow. A corps near Odessa was the only Russian unit attacked last turn. Germany is using the harsh winter for some freebie movement into Russia. A wall of Russian troops are using the Niemen river from Riga to Minsk as their main defenisve line in the North. Newspaper's in Canada have gotten word that Hort is dead. Under constant bombardment from surface ships Hort tried a daring move to escape into the ocean but the axis submarines are everywhere. His last known whereabouts was south of Dublin Ireland. UK convoys are raided to the point where we earn only 3 MPP on our convoys. We need to act on this. But there's good news, those pesky Blackshirts are dead. After nearly holding out again our last attacker, a mid strength corps popped the 4 star bastards for the final 2 hits. Finally! Multiple Japanese transports are being spotted parking near strategic islands in the Pacific. The war in China is quiet once again.
  24. November 9, 1941 China lost their front city, but there is a wall of Chinese in the mountains. The Japanese still have a very long way to go. In Europe the Russians make their final preperations before war with Germany and her allies. We get reports that Franco has sent the Blue unit to support the Axis in their invasion. That's where Stalin drew the line. At turn's end Russia joins the Allies! The real war for Europe is about to begin...
  25. October 12, 1941 Europe is a waiting game. Russia is nearly mobilized completely, they are at 83%. They are showing tank lv.2 indeed on the border. Tac Air is visible, and the Romanian's even got their upgrades. My guess is this turn or the next. In Belfast Hort is in it for the long haul. It's raining in Ethiopia, the blackshirts are going to live forever it seems. Nothing to report from Asia on my end.
