  1. 1,2,and3 are all good, I think. I don't know which I would prefer over the other.
  2. I hope UCP-Delta loses. It's like putting a bandaid on a severed limb. It's *better* but still not good. I like the new British camo, and I'm interested in seeing how that works out.
  3. That picture has so much Win it isn't funny.
  4. That's bizarre. I cannot explain that at all. Now it's telling me that it needs the Brit module, too. Earlier today, only Marines were required. I already posted the TO&Es for Red and Blue. Did Brit module add any Red TO&Es? Maybe the Reserve Mech Infantry (BTR)? *edit* Okay, I figured it out. The "Light Howitzer Battery" is part of the IBCT, I guess. I will change that so those without the Brit module can play the scenario, stand by. new Link, only requires Marines module: https://www.yousendit.com/download/MVNkMFhucVhCTW5IRGc9PQ
  5. I erased every Red and Blue unit from the TO&E when I started over. Blue is comprised of: 1 Stryker Infantry Battalion 1 Light Howitzer Battery Red is comprised of: 1 Reserve Infantry Battalion 1 Reserve Mech Infantry Battalion (BTR) some Combatants Syrian Airborne Battalion Tank Company 1 Medium Mortar Section. That's really really weird because I'm not a premium member, either. Let me try to re-upload somewhere else. I really don't know what the problem is. There shouldn't be anything requiring British module. I'm going to reupload to a different provider. Here is a different link, there shouldn't be any download problems with this. I also double checked the TO&E. https://www.yousendit.com/download/MVNlSkhaMGttUUVLSkE9PQ
  6. M203 definitely causes friendly fire. I had some guys clearing a trench, Syrian pops up, and the M203 gunner who is -an- action spot away (and behind the entire fire team) lets a grenade go, kills the Syrian, and manages to make the entire fire team (beside himself) Yellow.
  7. British module? What for? The original version was a light infantry company, but they were replaced by Strykers. It uses Syrian Airborne, so it requires Marines, but that is the only module requirement I am aware of. I"ll have to go over it again. CMSF confirms that it only requires Marines, though I should have mentioned that, sorry for the oversight. Not entirely, though the final phase of the scenario takes place in a small town, it is not entirely MOUT focused. Here are screens of the scenario: From Blue's Deployment area: The town:
  8. I've been working on a scenario for the past week or so and would like a person, or a couple of people, to test play it before I upload to the Repository. This is intended to be part of a campaign. A little teaser is: The scenario has a max of 4 hours, though it shouldn't take that long, and has you commanding a Stryker company. The briefing, to include pictures, are still WIP. http://rapidshare.com/files/320532518/Strykerattack.btt.html
  9. Had something similar yesterday. Stryker squad with a javelin and a single AT4 spots a T62 at >300m. I order them to fire, assuming the Jav gunner will get it. Jav fires, and AT4 goes off. Jav missed, and the AT4 soared through the air and killed the **** out of the T62. I couldn't believe it.
  10. Fire up Google Earth and look at some actual terrain.
  11. Hell, not just the Stryker guys, but the Tankers, the Mech infantry, and now us Light infantry, Airborne, and SOF types.
  12. Imagine the chaos that would be caused if everything but the bottom was painted. Pogue officers would be running around confused about what to do "Ahhh it's not perfectly uniform! My OER is ruined!". The First Sergeant would randomly tell soldiers to paint it, but since they don't have paint, it never actually gets done. Someone else would ask "well, if the bottom is still green, maybe the whole thing is supposed to be green? Maybe the tan was a mistake and they forgot until they got to the bottom?" and then the damned thing would get painted green again. No, it's best to just do the whole thing.
  13. Well, the overwatch team was from a different squad completely, the screen shot is actually taken from the Overwatch team's POV, just zoomed into the trench. I said they were 100m away, but I think the actual distance was between 130-150m. I usually play with all of my squads split. Ordinarily, I would use an Assault command, but you can't Assault with just a fire team :\.
  14. No CLUs on the Overwatch team. I was thinking it was just a statistical anomaly, but I wanted to post to see if there were any similar issues.
  15. I just had something really weird happen. I have some Stryker infantry clearing a trench using the Hunt command. As they're moving, one of the overwatch teams spots an enemy in the trench that the guys who are, literally, inches away from him can't see. What are the variables in play? It is early morning, 0420, guys are on Hunt. The Overwatch team is over 100m away. This is without the team selected: With the team selected: I am still on pause and wondering if I should have that team Area Fire (light), or tell them to stop movement and have the Overwatch. If I have that team fire, I don't want the 203 gunner to let loose (which has happened...idiot), and I don't want my guys to start hurling grenades at their own feet. It took them 15 seconds, but they spotted the guy and it resolved itself. Still, it was very strange. What can I do to enhance their chances of spotting?
  16. I had one of those today. There was an enemy trenchline on a reverse slope that I knew had some troops in it. A team of Styker infantry were on "Hunt" and approached from the rear. My plan was to get them into handgrenade range and then rush into the smoke and chaos and sort everybody out. They got to about 30m when an alert Syrian spotted them and opened up. Suddenly, a whole platoon of Syrian infantry opened fire on my 4, just 4 guys, some even threw grenades which exploded all around the troops. My guys managed to return fire and throw a couple of grenades of their own, and I had some guys nearby who were able to fire on the Syrians, score some casualties, and get them pinned. My team was pinnned for a few seconds, took no casualties (not even a yellow!), and beat feet. I watched one hand grenade take out 4 Syrians alone! It was insane! I cheated a bit, made a save and did a ceasefire. I was curious about what I had given them, and I was more than surprised. After the firefight, which lasted all of 30 seconds, or so, only 5 Syrians (2 were yellow) remained from that entire platoon. It was epic.
  17. You probably missed the gas cap. Everybody knows you have to hit the gas cap.
  18. Well, they are right. The uniform does wear out long before the velcro does, I will give them that.
  19. Yeah, the ACU includes two things that the Army does really well: Zippers and Velcro. The uniforms themselves are billed as having a "6-month lifespan", but my experience with them was that they could only get 6 months if you rotated 4 or more sets, and did nothing but hang out in the Ops Room all day. The whole thing was sold as being a massive "cost saving" venture for the soldier because nothing had to be sewn on, but the uniform is twice the cost of a set of BDUs, wears out very very quickly, and so on and so forth. Velcro for the insignia is an okay idea because it's easy to make your uniform sterile, or add significant information (IE: blood type). I just didn't like the uniform. I thought it was a poor idea, and when they kept saying "It was picked by X amount of soldiers, blah blah blah." I kept wondering what their alternatives were.
  20. My first deployment was spent attached to the Guard. They most certainly did not care what uniform I wore. Afghanistan was after jumping the fence, and we were in the mountains anyways, so who cared. Iraq x2 was strange. The cameras were still in Iraq, at the time, and the Surge was new, so we were supposed to look totally professional. It was lame. Time to go after that.
  21. Naw, I missed out. Although, the first time I went, we were issued a bunch of Northface style clothing, and then told we weren't allowed to wear them once we deployed. That was awesome. Then they said we couldn't wear the Gortex they issued to us in-country and that we couldn't wear the Field Jackets that were issued to us pre-deployment at RFI. But we still had to carry it and it was considered inspectable.
  22. Neither did mine. The first time I ever wore the uniform was for a jump. The crotch tore out as soon as I PLF'd. I "go commando" in the field, so that was a very interesting time. Gortex, as always, is good. The newer cold weather coat they have is pretty cool, but I was never issued one.
